Mules and Jennies have strong showing at UCM Classic

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules and Jennies had a strong showing at the UCM Classic on Friday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building, the final tune up before next week's MIAA Indoor Championships.

Heavin Warner won the weight throw with a personal record and provisional mark of 61' 7.75". It was the fifth best mark in Division II this year.

Madison Smith also had a personal record and provisional mark in the women's 60M hurdles at 8.73, teammate Nikki Douglas finished third in 8.93. Hassan Ilyas won the men's 60M hurdles in 8:44 and Jospeh Holland was second at 8:50.

George Charalambous placed first in long jump (22' 10'') and second in high jump (6' 6.25''). Meelis Siimson also placed in the long jump (21' 1.5''), finishing fourth, and Jessica Fennewald finished third on the women's side (16' 4.5'').

Devin Claypool won the men's high jump with a mark of 6' 10.25". Emily Heissler was the only Jennie to place in the high jump finishing third with a mark of 4' 11''.
Kellin Loch won the mens' 800m run in 1:54.67, and Cole Davis finished second at 1:55.57. Both earned provisional marks. Adam Tredway was third at 1:55.96.

Jacob Mahin finished second in shot put (49'8.5''), while Brooke Swearingin was fourth (41'10.5'').

In the women's 60m dash, Jessica Fennewald finished third in 8.11. Kendall Preston was second on the men's side (6.95).

Randale Lambert won the men's 400m dash at 53.06 and Won Ashenafi was second at 53.16. Kailey Fuchs was third in the women's race at 1:00.18.

Ryan Mixdorf won the 600 yard dash (1:14.53), Bryan Dougherty was third (1:15.301). Kendall Preston won the 200m dash with a time of 22.60, and Chase McCoy was second at 22.65.

In the women's 3000m run Megan Glamann was second (10:35.83) and Courtney Klaty was third (10:54.89). Tyler Stuber won the men's race at 8:48.75, and Spencer Hudson was second in 9:04.27.

Both teams are back in action next Friday through Sunday at the MIAA Indoor Championships hosted by Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo.
