Four provisionals for Mules and Jennies at UCM Invite

The Mules and Jennies opened their full indoor track and field season with four provisional qualifing performaces Friday night at the UCM Multipurpose Building. George Charalambous and Madison Smith each earned provisional marks, while Heavin Warner picked up two.

Warner had a strong showing for the Jennies, winning the weight throw with a throw of 57' 3.5" and also took first in the shot put with a throw of 44' 3.25". 

Smith won the high jump, with a mark of 5' 6", while Charalambous placed second in the long jump, with a jump of 23' 0.75". He also placed third in the high jump at 6' 4".

Devin Claypool narrowly missed out on a provisional mark, jumping 6' 8" to take first in the high jump. Teammate Konnor Cordes, was second at 6' 6". 

The Jennies picked up a at win in the 400m dash, when Nikki Douglas ran 59.95. Osvaldo Granillo finished second on the men's side, running 52.27. 

Clarissa Thomas picked up another win for the Jennies running 1:28.24 in the 600 yard run. UCM had a strong showing in the 3000 meter run, Megan Glamann was second and Courtney Klaty third on the women's side, while Adam Tredway took first on the men's side and teammate Tyler Stuber was third. 

The Mules took home the men's title with 131.5 points, while the Jennies placed third on the women's side. 

UCM is back in action next weekend, when they head to Joplin, Mo. to compete in the MSSU Lion Invite on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
