No. 14 Jennies Soccer battles Emporia State to 0-0 tie in double overtime

EMPORIA, Kan.
- The No. 14 Jennies soccer team (5-1-2, 3-0-1 MIAA) played to a 0-0 tie in double-overtime at Emporia State on Sunday afternoon. 

Central Missouri had its opportunities to get on the scoreboard throughout the game, outshooting Emporia State by an overwhelming 38-4 count, including a 27-2 tally in regulation. 

Forward Hannah Pyle led the Jennies with seven shots, three on-goal. Defender Emily Eldridge, who scored a goal in the victory on Friday night at Washburn, finished with a team-leading four shots on-goal. 

In the final 3 1/2 minutes of double-overtime, the Jennies manufactured three shots, but two were saved by Emporia State goalkeeper Yadira Rivera, who recorded 14 saves on the afternoon.

With the tie, Jennies goalkeeper Morgan Hartzler's record now stands at 5-1-2. The sophomore saved three shots, facing just four all day, while logging all 110 minutes of action. 

Next for the Jennies is a trip to Southwest Baptist next Friday, October 4 at 4 p.m.
