QUICK HITS
• The Mules open the 2013-14 exhibition portion of their schedule with a trip to Columbia, Mo. on Friday, Nov. 1 to take on the Missouri Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
• Central Missouri is 0-2 against Missouri during the Kim Anderson era. The teams last met in an exhibition game on November 7, 2011, an 88-70 MU win.

• Central Missouri finished 13-5 in MIAA play and captured a share of the MIAA regular season championship for the second straight season. It was the fifth conference crown under Anderson and 23rd in school history.
• The Mules projected starting line-up consists of two players who played significant minutes for UCM last season with Ryan Magdziarz and Jon Gilliam. Preston Brunz redshirted after transferring from Kirkwood Community College. Ryan Donald is in his first season with the Mules after averaging 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game at Shawnee Community College last season. Dillon Deck averaged 14.9 points and 7.7 boards per contest last year at William Jewell.
• The Mules lost nearly 75 percent of their scoring and 77 percent of the rebounding from last year's team. Leading returning scorer and rebounder Charles Hammork will sit out the first semester and return for the second semester.

MORE QUICK HITS
• UCM returns one all-MIAA performer from a season ago. Charles Hammork was an honorable mention All-MIAA pick last season after averaging 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He was also an MIAA Tournament All-Tournament Team selection in helping the Mules to the conference tournament title.
• Three of the top nine single-season scoring leaders have come during the 11-year tenure of head coach Kim Anderson.

SERIES HISTORY
• Central Missouri and Missouri have met 12 times in the regular season with the Tigers holding a 10-2 advantage in the series.
• The teams last met in exhibition action at the start of the 2011-12 season with Missouri posting an 88-70 win in Columbia.
• The Mules are 0-2 against MU in exhibition action during the Kim Anderson era.
• The Mules are 1-3 in Mizzou Arena in exhibition games after going 1-1 in the CBE Classic to start the 2007-08 season. UCM lost to Fordham 76-66 and beat Central Michigan 75-70.

ABOUT THE TIGERS
• Missouri is 1-0 in the exhibition season after a 73-48 win over Oklahoma City last Friday night. The Tigers were led by Jabari Brown's 15 points and five assists. Earnest Ross recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
• MU lost 63 percent of its scoring, 65 perent of it rebounds and 76 percent of the assists from last season's team that went 23-11 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year.
• The Tigers were picked to finish fifth in the SEC Preseason Poll.
• Jabari Brown was a Preseason Second Team All-SEC selection.
• Head Coach Frank Haith begins his third season in Columbia with an impressive 53-16 record. His overall record in this, his 10th season as a college head coach, stands at 182-117.

LAST TIME VS. MISSOURI
• Missouri posted an 88-70 win in exhibition action on November 7, 2011 in Columbia.
• UCM shot 44 percent (24 of 54) from the floor and 6 of 17 from beyond the arc for 35.3 percent.
• The Mules were led in scoring by Matt Webb's 18 points. Four Mules finished in double figures with Dominique Long scoring 13 points, Boo Hunter had 11 and Reggie Stallings finished with 10.
• Five Tigers finished in double figures led by Ricardo Ratliffe's 21 points and nine rebounds.
• Missouri out-rebounded the Mules 33-31 and forced 17 UCM turnovers.
• The Tigers shot 52 percent from the field, 33 of 64, including 8 of 19 from three-point range for 42 percent.

LAST TIME OUT • HARDING 75, CENTRAL MISSOURI 71 • 3/16/13
MANKATO, Minn. -- The Mules rallied from a big first half deficit to take a second half lead, but eventually came up short 75-71 against Harding in the NCAA Central Regional First Round on Saturday night at the Taylor Center. The loss ends Central Missouri's season at 22-8.
    The Mules scored the first points of the game on a Charles Hammork layup at the 19:23 mark, but the Bison (22-9) would score the next 13 points to open an 11-point lead with 16:21 to play in the half. Dominique Long ended the drought with a jumper at the 15:51 mark, but four more points from Harding made it 17-4 with 13:32 to play in the first.
    Following a Matt Webb bucket, Widgett Washington stole the inbounds pass and scored a traditional three-point play to pull UCM within 17-9. The Mules cut the lead to five at 20-15 with just over 10 minutes to play in the half, but the Bison came right back with an 8-0 run to open a 13-point lead.
    Central Missouri was able to whittle the lead down to eight with an 8-3 run, but Harding used an 11-3 run to build their biggest lead of the game at 42-26 with just over three minutes to play in the opening stanza. HU went into intermission with a 44-31 lead.
    The Bison shot 69 percent in the first half, 18-of-26, including 6-of-10 from three-point range while the Mules struggled at 39 percent, 12-of-31.
    The Mules opened the second half on a 10-2 run to pull within five at 46-41 with 16:17 to play in the game. Four quick points by the Bison pushed the lead back to nine. UCM made another run going on a 12-2 spurt to regain the lead 55-54 with 9:33 to play. Zach Bush's steal and dunk brought UCM to within two and Matt Webb's three-point play gave the Mules their first lead since 2-0. Hammork added a free throw on the next possession to give UCM a 56-54 lead with 9:20 to play.
    The Mules had all the momentum and a chance to extend their lead, but went cold from the field missing their next seven shots. Zach Roddenberry tied the game on a layup to start a 7-0 run that put HU back in front 61-56 with 5:51 to play. A layup from Webb and a trey from Dominique Long tied the game at 61 with just under 5:30 to play.
    A three-point play from Adam Sterrenberg put Harding back in front, but another bucket from Webb followed by two free throws from Washington put the Mules back in the lead 65-64 with 3:34 to play. The Mules led by two with just under three minutes to play, but six straight points by the Bison gave them a 71-67 lead they would never relinquish. UCM made 1-of-2 at the free throw line to pull within three with 1:10 to play. Following a stop, the Mules had a chance to tie the game, but Hammork's three-pointer was off the mark and UCM was forced to foul.
    Sterrenberg hit a pair of foul shots to give HU a 73-68 lead with 11 seconds left. Long banked in a three and was fouled with four seconds left to get UCM within two. He intentionally missed the free throw, but the Bison got the rebound. Roddenberry made two free throws to give Harding a 75-71 lead and eventually the win.
    Washington and Webb led UCM with 17 points apiece,while Long had 15. The Mules struggled from the field shooting just 37 percent (26-of-71) and 26 percent (6-of-23) from beyond the arc. UCM was 13-of-19 at the foul line for 68 percent.
    Roddenberry led HU with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Weston Jameson had 12 points and Andraz Kavas chipped in 11. Harding shot 49 percent for the game (26-of-53) and made 6-of-18 from three-point range for 33 percent. HU was 17-of-23 at the charity stripe for 74 percent.

GOOD THINGS TO COME?
• This will be the third exhibition meeting between UCM and Missouri during the Kim Anderson era. The previous two times the Mules and Tigers played in the exhibition season, UCM went on to win a share of the MIAA Championship that season.
• MU claimed a 100-73 win back on Nov. 4, 2004 and the 88-70 win on Nov. 7, 2011. The 2004-05 Mules went 24-7 overall and were MIAA Co-Champions with a 14-4 conference mark. The 2011-12 UCM squad went 19-8 and tied for the league title with a 15-5 mark.

• Central Missouri welcomes 10 newcomers to the roster in 2013-14 along with redshirts Preston Brunz (Mankato, Minn./Kirkwood CC) and Garrett Sandbothe (Lee's Summit, Mo./Park). Newcomers include Dillon Deck (Smithville, Mo./William Jewell), Ryan Donald (Memphis, Tenn./Shawnee CC), Jordan Epps (Springfield, Mo./Missouri Valley), Brennen Hughes (Moberly, Mo./Moberly CC), Sean O'Brien (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney HS), Daylen Robinson (Kansas City, Mo./Texas Tech), Connor Wheeler (Carbondale, Ill./John A Logan CC), TJ White (Raytown, Mo./Moberly CC), Kyle Wolf (Lenexa, Kan./Rockhurst HS) and Brad Woodson (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney HS).

• Now in his 12th season leading the Mules, Central Missouri head coach Kim Anderson has compiled a career record of 244-90 (.731).
• His .731 winning percentage ranks seventh among all active NCAA Division II coaches.
• He has led UCM to five MIAA regular season titles, more than any other coach in school history, four MIAA tournament championships, two Regional championships and two Final Four appearances.
• Anderson recorded career win No. 200 with a 65-61 win against Washburn on February 9, 2011.
• Anderson is one of only five coaches in Central Missouri history to record 100 or more career wins - Anderson (244), Tad. C. Reid (178), Earl Keth (159), Jim Wooldridge (131) and Lynn Nance (114).

• Central Missouri has won a combined 193 MIAA regular-season conference championships in 14 league sports to lead all schools.
