Jennies defeat Bearcats of NWMSU

(Maryville, Mo.) - The No. 15 University of Central Missouri Jennies (6-1-0, 0-0 MIAA) outshot Northwest Missouri State (3-2-2, 1-0 MIAA) 25-5 and rolled to a 4-0 win Thursday afternoon at Bearcat Pitch in Maryville, Missouri. 
The Jennies jumped out to a 1-0 lead not even a minute into the match, when Alyssa Rhodes (Olathe, Kan.) forced a corner kick from Carly Stanley (De Soto, Kan.) into the net 50-seconds into the half. Central Missouri would get another goal in the 38th minute after Caysi Shouse (Waukesha, Wisc.) found the back of the net increasing the Jennies lead to 2-0.
For the half, Central Missouri outshot Northwest Missouri State 15-2 and had a 3-1 advantage over the Bearcats in corner kicks. 
The Jennies didn't waste any time at the start of the second half, increasing their lead to 3-0 two-minutes into the half after Rhodes once again controlled a corner kick from Stanley and hammered it past Bearcat goalkeeper Kelsey Adams. Central Missouri wasn't done though; just four-minutes later, in the 51st minute, Stanley found the goal making it 4-0 Jennies.
The Jennies tallied 25 shots in the match and a season-high 18 shots-on-goal while Northwest Missouri was held to only five shots total, three of those on-goal. The two goals by Rhodes give her four goals on the season, while the goal by Stanley is her second this season.  Shouse's goal marks her first this year. Stanley collected two assists against the Bearcats today to increase her team-high assist count to five for the season. Jennies' goalkeeper Brooke Cooley (Alton, Ill.) improved her season record in-goal to 6-1-0 and collected two saves while fellow Central Missouri goalie Linnsie McMahan (Fenton, Mo.) also collected a save in the match.     
With the win over the Bearcats the Jennies improve to 6-1-0 overall while Northwest Missouri State falls to 3-2-2 on the season.
