Jennies win streak continues with win over Truman
(KIRKSVILLE, Mo.) – The eighth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies won their ninth straight match, in a 3-0 win against the Truman Bulldogs, 25-19, 25-12, 25-8. Senior hitter Allie Huffman, the current MIAA offensive Player of the Week, posted her 4th double-double of the year with 13 kills and 14 digs while hitting for a .433 average. Sophomore Taylor Goodness had a career night, going for 12 kills, her highest total as a member of the Jennies. Defensively, both seniors Taylor Krejci and Kelsey Ortwerth collected 21 and 20 digs, respectively.

The Bulldogs held with the Jens in the opening set, holding a two-point lead at 9-7 after Meghan Zimmerman's lone kill of the night. UCM went on a 16-6 run from that point, building up a 23-15 lead that the Jennies quickly turned into an opening set victory. The Jens didn't waste any time in the second set, taking the first nine points. After finally losing serve, UCM scored six of the next seven to take a 15-2 lead. The Jennies only gave up eight points in the final set, as they held their opponents to single digits in a set for the second straight match.

With the victory, the Jennies stay perfect in MIAA play at 4-0, and improve to 14-3 overall. The win also is the 30th consecutive victory over Missouri schools. The current nine-game winning streak is the longest since last season's nine-game streak that took the Jennies through the South Central Regional championship and right up to the NCAA National Semifinal match. Central Missouri returns to the Multipurpose Building for a pair of matches this Friday and Saturday, October 7-8, as they take on Missouri Western and Nebraska-Omaha.
