(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) – The second-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer team rolled to a 3-0 shutout over Missouri Western at Spratt Stadium tonight. UCM outshot the Griffons 21-2 and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks in the game.
The Jennies have now won a program high-tying 15 games this season and are 13-0 in the MIAA. UCM also has won more games on the road, nine, than in any other season.
Central Missouri took eight shots before getting on the board on the ninth shot of the game. Freshman
Carly Stanley scored her team-high seventh goal of the season as she kicked it from 10 yards out into the bottom left corner of the net.
Later in the first half, freshman
Cindy Lackey collected her first collegiate goal to give the Jennies a 2-0 lead. She scored from 15 yards out on a pass by junior
Sharaya Sidebottom.

Cara Hennahane added her sixth goal of the season off a cross by freshman
Kristin Bright. This is the third goal that Hennahane and Bright have paired up on this season.
Freshman
Brooke Cooley played the whole game in net, recording her fifth shutout of the year. She saved both shots of the Griffons.
Stanley led the team with five shots, four on goal. Both of those are personal game high-tying numbers for Stanley.
The Jennies will return to action when they host Emporia State (1-9-5, 1-8-4 MIAA) on Saturday, October 30. Opening whistle is slated for 2:00 p.m. from Jennies Field. UCM is also hosting a Halloween Costume Contest during halftime of this game.
