Katie O'Keefe scored a hat trick to lead the second-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer team to a 6-0 victory over Missouri Southern Saturday afternoon at Hal Boden Field in Joplin, Mo. It is the first time that a UCM player has recorded a hat trick and that it has scored six goals in a game since September 15, 2007 against Emporia State.
Central Missouri collected its ninth shutout of the season on the way to a 14-0 overall record and a 12-0 MIAA mark. The Jennies have also broke a conference record by scoring in 24 consecutive games and tied a school record with eight road wins in a season.
O'Keefe opened the scoring gates in the 14
th minute of action off a header that snuck past the Missouri Southern goalie. Sophomore
Kayla Shain recorded the assist on the play.

Cara Hennahane added a goal of her own off the feet of freshman
Kristin Bright. It is Hennahane's fifth goal of the season and Bright's fifth assist.
The Jennies ended the first half with their third goal, this time by sophomore
Kelsie Hanson. It was her first goal of the season.
Early in the second half, O'Keefe added a pair of goals to put the Jennies up 5-0. Shain collected her second assist of the game on the first score. It gives O'Keefe four goals and Shain six assists on the season.
Freshman
Danielle Stanley garnered her first collegiate goal in the 85
th minute to give the Jennies their biggest margin of victory of the season.
Central Missouri outshot the Lions 24-3, 16-3 on goal, with O'Keefe leading the way with a personal game-high four shots on goal. The Jennies also had a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman
Brooke Cooley played 66 minutes in net, collecting one save. Sophomore
Linnsie McMahan played the last 25 and recorded two saves in goal.
The Jennies will return to action on Thursday, October 28 when they travel to Missouri Western to take on the Griffons. Opening whistle is slated for 7:00 p.m. from Elliot Spratt Memorial Stadium in St. Joseph, Mo.
