Central Missouri Jennies volleyball head coach Caitlin Peterson is excited to announce the hiring of Rylie Barnum as the newest Assistant Coach on Monday, March 3.

"I am thrilled to welcome Rylie back to UCM to be a part of our staff!" Peterson said. "She is a wealth of knowledge, not only in the defensive aspect of the game, but in overall game management as well. She's been around volleyball her whole life and I know she is going to make a great addition to our team."

Barnum, a native of Lenexa, Kan., spent the previous two seasons as a Graduate Assistant coach at Division I Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn.

Prior to her time at Austin Peay, Barnum played the final three seasons of her college career for the Jens where she was a 2021 All-MIAA Second Team selection that eclipsed over 1,000 career digs averaging 4.66 per set for Central Missouri. Prior to her time in Warrensburg, Barnum played two seasons at Johson County Community College (Kan.) earning both CoSIDA and NJCAA All-America honors.

Barnum's mom Jill Stinson was a NJCAA Hall of Fame coach for the Cavaliers where she posted a 299-120-1 overall record over 11 seasons prior to her retirement in 2007.

"To be able to fill this position with someone from within our volleyball family is such a blessing. Rylie knows what Jennies Volleyball is all about and will do a great job upholding our rich tradition." Peterson added.
