Sam Huffstickler

Sam (Herweck) Huffstickler, a St. Charles, Missouri native, joined the Jennies in the Summer of 2021 as the assistant coach. Previously, she was the head coach at St. Charles Community College from 2019 to 2021. In the 2021 Spring season, she led the Cougars to their first 20+ win season in the program since 2012 with a record of 24-26. In her first year at SCC, before COVID-19 cut the Spring season short, Coach Huff led the team to a 5-7 record start, surpassing the previous season win record of 2-36. 

Preceding SCC, Sam was the assistant coach at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. At NOC Tonkawa, Coach Huff helped lead the Lady Mavericks to their first 40+ win season and first National ranking in program history.  

Coach Huff was a Graduate Assistant Coach while working on her Masters at Oklahoma Baptist University. While there, she helped guide the Lady Bison to an NCCAA National Championship in 2017 in their last year of transitioning to NCAA Division II. 

As a player, Herweck attended Three Rivers College and played two seasons for the Lady Raiders where she made the NJCAA Region 16 All-Tournament Team (2013) and NJCAA Region 16 First Defensive Team in 2014. She attended DII Arkansas Tech University where she would finish her education and playing career. She was part of the 2015, first Golden Sun’s team to qualify for a Regional. In her senior season, the Golden Suns were the 2016 GAC regular season Champions, Regional Champions and Super Regional runner-up. 

She graduated from TRC with her Associate’s degree in 2014, Bachelors of Professional Studies in Public Relations from ATU in 2016, and her Masters in Sports Administration from East Central University in 2017.

Coach Huff is married to her husband, Tyler on the baseball coaching staff. They have two dogs, Jax and Hazel and are expecting their first child in July 2022.
