Kurtis Brondyke
Assistant Coach | 6th Season
Kurtis Brondyke enters his sixth season as an assistant coach on the Mules and Jennies coaching staff. Brondyke was previously a graduate assistant in 2012-14. He will be working primarily with the jumps and multi-event athletes and is also in charge of the team's recruiting efforts.
Since arriving at Central Missouri in 2012, Brondyke has helped coach 22 All-Americans in the multi-events in seven years.
Brondyke had a successful collegiate track & field career as a multi-event athlete at Central College (Iowa). As a senior, Brondyke won the 2011 NCAA Division III national championship in the Indoor Pentathlon, with a score of 3,827, and finished 2nd in the Decathlon during the outdoor season.
Brondyke has competed in the decathlon at the U.S. Championships three times. He placed fifth in 2017 scoring 7746 points and was seventh in 2015 with 7475 points and 10th in 2014 with a score of 7416. He recorded a personal-best score of 7795 in Dallas, Texas in 2016.
He has also competed in the annual Thorpe Cup three times, representing the United States. The Thorpe Cup is a multi-event competition between the United States and Germany held each summer. Brondyke was the second-highest scoring American in 2016 and 2017 and was fifth overall in 2016.
Brondyke received his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from UCM, graduating in 2014.
