Connar Southard enters his second season at Central Missouri as a graduate assistant coach. In his first season, Southard coached five new UCM all-time top 10 performances on the track in addition to one All-MIAA performance for the Mules in the 800m. Southard is a graduate of Pittsburg State University where he competed on the Gorillas cross country and track and field teams finishing with a PR in the 1500m of 3:42.90.
Southard was a 13-time All-MIAA selection, a 3-time All-American winning the DMR at the NCAA Indoor National Championships in 2021 and finished his career as a member of the 2022 Division II Outdoor National Championship winning team. Southard graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Pittsburg State in 2022 and is now pursuing his master’s degree in Kinesiology.
