Ryan Mahoney begins his second season as the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach after being hired in April of 2023, guiding the Mules to a 13-15 overall record including 8-14 in MIAA play. Central Missouri had two players earn All-MIAA accolades including Tim Jordan Jr. (Honorable Mention) and Jordan Hayes (All-Defensive Team) while knocking off #22 Missouri Western (Jan. 27, 2023) by a final score of 68-60 inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg. 

Prior to his time at UCM, Mahoney spent the previous eight seasons on Bohac’s staff at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., including the past four as the associate head coach. During his time with the Crimson Storm, Mahoney helped SNU to an impressive 170-67 overall record including 129-43 in the GAC (Great American Conference) and an 87-18 record at home.

Mahoney has helped Southern Nazarene to four NCAA appearances, including advancing to the Central Region Championship game this past season. In addition to the NCAA Division II postseason success, the Storm have won the GAC regular season championship four times and the conference tournament twice.

Prior to his time at SNU, Mahoney served as an assistant coach at both Allen County Community College and Northern Oklahoma College - Enid.

Mahoney earned his bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in business from Wichita State University where he served as a student manager for the Shockers men’s basketball team from 2007-10. He received his master’s degree in sports management from East Central University in 2014.
