In 2015: Earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA accolades after registering 30 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks while starting every game at defensive end ... had at least a half a tackle for loss in seven of 11 games ... returned a fumble 33 yards for his second career touchdown in the win over Pittsburg State ... recorded four tackles with 1.5 sacks in the win at Nebraska-Kearney.

In 2014: Started all 12 games at defensive end ... finished the season with 37 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks ... recorded career-high seven tackles with 1.5 sacks in win over Central Oklahoma ... had first career interception and touchdown with a 20-yard return at Pittsburg State ... had three games of five or more tackles and at least 0.5 TFL in six games.

In 2013: Named the MIAA Co-Freshman of the Year and an honorable mention all-conference pick... started all 10 games at defensive end, recording 25 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks ... named MIAA Player of the Week after six tackle, three tackle for loss and three sack performance in win over Northeastern State ... recorded a tackle for loss in six games last season.

In high school: The all-time leader in sacks at Columbia-Rockbridge High School, Powell was a first team all-district and all-area selection at defensive end as a senior ... he received the Bruin “Pass Rusher of the Year” Award after racking up 11.5 sacks as a senior.
