Ty White
Assistant Coach | 1st Season
Ty White joined the Mules coaching staff in the fall of 2018 as a graduate assistant and will be working his second season in 2020. As a member of the staff he will oversee the outfielders as well as help with base running, recruiting, the Mule offense and other duties as assigned. In his first season, White helped outfielders Mason Janvrin and Erik Webb to 100 hit seasons and All-American honors. Janvrin was also drafted by the Baltimore Orioles with the first pick of the 14th round.
Coach Ty White earned his Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis areas in business, exercise science and physical education. He was also a member of the baseball program at both Arkansas State and Crowder College where he played in 237 games. As a freshman at Crowder, White hit .381 and won the most promising freshman award. In his sophomore season, he hit for a .356 clip, was named team MVP and broke both the school and the NJCAA DI single-season triples record with 15. In White’s two years at Crowder they reached their first ever #1 National ranking (2013), won a Region 16 Championship (2014), and went 92-30 overall.
In two seasons at Arkansas State, White hit .300 and .318 as the primary leadoff hitter and right fielder. While at ASU, he was given the first ever Ed Way Heart & Hustle Award as well as earning SBC player of the week and all-tournament team honors his senior season. In the conference tournament, White tied the record for most triples in a single game (2) and overall triples in the tournament (3).
After graduation, he joined the coaching staff at Benedictine College alongside Anthony Everman and Adam Hilker as a graduate assistant. Here, White oversaw base running, outfielders, strength and conditioning, helped with offense and coached first base. The Ravens posted a 35-22 record, which was the best since 2006.
White then went on to join coaches Jud Kindle and Nick Petree on the State Fair Roadrunner staff for the 2017-2018 season. Here he was in charge of base running and outfielders as well as the strength and conditioning program. His other duties included helping with the offense, recruiting and coaching first base. The Roadrunners finished the year 33-24, winning their sub-regional and finishing third in the Region 16 tournament.
White is currently working towards his Masters of Kinesiology with an emphasis in sports management.
