• MIAA Academic Honor Roll (2022-23, 2023-24)

2023-24: Appeared in 24 games for the Mules making 17 starts... Averaged 3.6 rebounds and 2.7 points in 19.5 minutes per contest... Ranked second on the team with 12 blocks highlighted by a career-best three against Washburn (Feb. 24) adding four rebounds and two points in 30 minutes of play for good measure... Had a career-high 17 points going a perfect 7-for-7 from the field adding a career-best three steals and two rebounds in the 68-60 victory over #22 Missouri Western (Jan. 27)... Grabbed a career-high nine rebounds against Pittsburg State (Feb. 7) adding two points and one steal in 26 minutes... Earned the MIAA Academic Honor Roll award for his work in the classroom. 

2022-23: Appeared in 13 games for the Mules... Averaged 1.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 6.5 minutes per contest... Shot 32 percent from the field including 70 percent from the charity stripe... Scored a career-high six points against Lincoln (Dec. 11) and Nebraska-Kearney (Jan, 2)... Collected a career-best four rebounds against Washburn (Jan. 5) in Topeka... Received the MIAA Academic Honor Roll award for his work in the classroom. 

Prior to UCM: Was a member of a U19 Swiss National Championship team (GC Basketball).... Was a member of a Swiss National Champion runner-up team (Starwings Basket) 

Personal: Son of Meseret Halie and Almaz Afewerki... Majoring in Economics
