As a Sophomore: Second-team All-MIAA forward selection...started all 23 games while totaling 1,664 minutes played...finished the season with the second-most points on the team at 25, scoring eight goals and dishing out nine assists...lead UCM with 72 shots and posted a shot on goal percentage of .569...Newsom tied her season-high of six shots while scoring two goals in the Jennies 6-1 victory over Missouri Southern...played a large role in the 2019 MIAA Championship offense that finished second in goals per game in the league (2.30) and assists per game (1.78)...earned the MIAA Academic Excellence and MIAA Scholar-Athlete awards and was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for her performances in the classroom.

Before UCM: Newsom spent the first year of her college career playing at St. Louis University where the Billikens won the Atlantic-10 Tournament and were 10-0 in the A-10 Regular Season. She played in 20 games with one start, recording an assist against Missouri State and Richmond University.

In High School: A prolific goal scorer for Coach Shaun Owens and Lee's Summit West High School, Newsom scored 66 goals while adding 41 assists in high school. She was the Missouri 4A Player of the Year as a senior and made the 2018 United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team. Well decorated throughout high school, Newsom was a four-time All-District and All-Conference pick while also being a two-time First Team All-State selection. She helped Lee's Summit West to two district championships and a second and third place finish at state in her career. Prior to her collegiate career, Newsom won four Missouri State Cup Championships on her club teams, Sporting LS Pink Panthers and Sporting BV ECNL/Showcase. She was the 2016 USYS National League "Golden Boot" winner and a "Best 11" selection at the 2015 national tournament.
