As a junior: Appeared in 11 games ... had eight tackles and half a tackle for loss ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

As a sophomore: Played in six games, mostly on special teams making five tackles ... named to MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

As a freshman: Played in nine games on the special teams unit and at linebacker... recorded eight tackles, including three stops against Missouri Southern... Grabbed MIAA Academic Honor Roll as well... redshirted in 2008.

In high school: Head Coach: Mike Zegunis – Played linebacker, defensive back, and wide receiver at Blue Valley Northwest, earning letters in his final two campaigns… the team captain for the Huskies, he was selected to the All-East Kansas first-team and was honorable mention all-metro and all-class at linebacker… was named his team’s defensive MVP with a school-record 140 tackles (75 solo, 65 assisted), 10 for loss, three sacks, and three forced fumbles…also competed in track, qualifying for state in the 400, 200 and 4x400...  in The Honors College at UCM and received the Black and Red Merit Scholarship... named a Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association Kansas Scholar as well for his work in the classroom.

Personal: Biology major with a 3.64 GPA ... son of Mark and Heather Holbert... brother Travis Holbert was a defensive back for UCM.
