HAYS, Kan. – No. 19-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer ran its winning and shutout streak to five straight matches with a 4-0 shutout win over the Fort Hays State Tigers in a MIAA match on Friday evening, Sept. 25, at the FHSU Soccer Stadium.
The Jennies (7-1, 2-0 MIAA) are slated to travel to Kearney, Neb., for a noon conference match at Nebraska Kearney (2-4-3, 0-2-1 MIAA) on Sunday, Sept. 27.
It took Central Missouri less than 30 seconds to score what proved to be the game-winning goal in the contest when
Coryn Jespersen hammered an assist from
Aspen Patterson into the back of the net just 16 seconds in for her second goal of the season, giving UCM a 1-0 lead.
Mikayla Ernst doubled the Jennies' advantage to 2-0 in the 33rd minute, netting her team-high-tying third goal of the season.
UCM went up 3-0 three minutes out of halftime in the 48th minute after
Kylie Richardson slotted a pass from Jespersen into the goal. It was Richardson's second goal of 2026.
Freshman
Allie Schroeder tallied the fourth and final goal of the contest in the 85th minute, scoring from close range on Richardson's assist and Patterson's corner kick for her first collegiate goal.
Central Missouri goalkeeper
Kristen Wright (7-1) earned the win between the posts, securing her fourth solo shutout and seventh overall clean sheet after surrendering zero goals while making one save in 90 minutes.
UCM controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting FHSU (2-5-1, 0-3 MIAA), 19-2, including a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal. Central Missouri also held Fort Hays State to zero corner kicks while taking 13 of its own in the triumph.
