TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – No. 25 Central Missouri Jennies (9-5, 2-0 MIAA) swept the Northeastern State RiverHawks (1-10, 0-1 MIAA) by final scores of 25-13, 25-8, 25-16, Saturday, Sept. 18, during Camo Day, inside the NSU Event Center, in Tahlequah, Okla.
After opening the match on a 6-0 run, highlighted by three service aces from
Ragin Corwin (match-high 16 digs and five assists overall), the Jens cruised to a 25-13 victory in the frame, out-hitting NSU by a margin of .458 to -.032 for good measure.
Central Missouri doubled its advantage in the second, holding the RiverHawks to just eight points in the frame, which is the lowest amount of points allowed by the Jens in a set to 25 in the
Caitlin Peterson era.
The last time Central Missouri won a set by 17 points or more was during the 2021 season when the second-ranked Jens swept Missouri Southern in Warrensburg by scores of 25-5, 25-8, 25-8.
The Jens completed their second consecutive sweep, and fourth of the season, in the third, closing out the match on a 6-2 run, highlighted by a pair of kills from
Sammy Klotz (seven kills and two digs overall).
Central Missouri had two players finish the match with double-figure kills, including outside hitter
Maya Fergerson (match-best 12 kills, two blocks, and two digs overall) and Lee's Summit, Mo. native
Kaelyn McDonald (11 kills and a match-high five blocks overall), while junior
Grace Wagers added five kills on seven swings (.571 hitting percentage) and three digs.
Senior
Kirsten Harper had six digs and two assists, while a trio of Jens posted double-digit assists, including
Chloe Rauner (two digs) and
Bella Holcomb with 13 assists each, plus senior
Shelbi Wilson (five digs) added 10 assists on the afternoon.
The Jens continue the 2026 campaign on Tuesday, Sept. 22, as they host the Maryville Saints (7-5, 2-0 GLVC), for the 50
th Anniversary Night of the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center, with first serve beginning at 6:00 p.m., in Warrensburg.
