KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 25 Central Missouri Jennies (7-5, 0-0 MIAA) fell to the Rockhurst Hawks (6-4, 0-0 GLVC) by a final score of 1-3 (23-25, 19-25, 25-21, 27-29), Tuesday, Sept. 15, inside Mason-Halpin Field House, in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
Central Missouri opened the match on a 5-1 run, highlighted by four kills from senior
Maya Fergerson, but the Hawks took the frame with a two-point victory. Fergerson, a native of Blue Springs, Mo., posted a match-high 20 kills on 42 swings (.333 hitting percentage), adding a career-best six blocks on the night.
After dropping the second set of the match, the Jens responded with a 5-2 run in the opening points of the third, highlighted by a pair of kills from outside hitter
Sammy Klotz (seven kills overall), before trimming the Hawks' lead with a 25-21 win in the frame.
Rockhurst claimed victory in the fourth, ending the match with a 5-2 run, en route to earning their sixth win of the season, led by Chloe Tyrrell's 17 kills and nine digs.
Two Jens ended the match with double-figure kills, including middle blocker
Grace Wagers, who had 15 kills on 27 attempts (.444 attack percentage), while Lee's Summit, Mo. native
Kaelyn McDonald had nine kills on 20 swings (.350 hitting percentage), a match-high eight blocks, and three digs.

Kirsten Harper collected 12 digs, Omaha, Neb. native

The Jens begin MIAA play on Friday, Sept. 18, against the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions (11-2, 0-0 MIAA), with first serve beginning at 6:00 p.m., inside the Stubblefield Center in Fort Smith, Ark.
