SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri Cross Country teams competed at the Queen City After Dark at Allison Sports Town on Friday, Sept. 11, in Springfield.
 
The Jens placed in the top-five as a team out of 13, scoring 139 points in the 5k race, highlighted by a pair of top-25 finishers in junior Yolanda Brooks (13^th place in a personal-best time of 18:38) and Lake Winnebago, Mo. native Madison Cross (25^th place in a personal-best time of 19:07).
 
Kenzie Maddox (33^rd place in 19:28), Sophia Rivers (43^rd place in 19:45), and Falon Hudson (45^th place in 19:48) rounded out the scoring for Central Missouri in their first collegiate meet with top-50 performances.
 
The team title went to the Missouri State Bears, who scored 28 points, followed by Rockhurst (72 points), Drury (126 points), and John Brown (Ark.), which finished just above the Jens with 135 points.

The Mules finished in seventh-place out of 13 teams, scoring 164 points in the 6k race, highlighted by a pair of top-30 finishers in freshman Mason McDaniel (24^th place in 19:12) and Fort Worth, Texas native James Romo (27^th place in 19:16).
 
Freshman Drew Howell placed 42^nd with a time of 19:36, while St. Charles, Mo. native Sterling Holloman (43^rd place in 19:36) and freshman Dylan Guck (46^th place in 19:38) rounded out the scoring for the Mules with top-50 performances for good measure.

Missouri S&T won the team title on the men's side, scoring 38 points, followed by Drury (53 points), Crowder (Mo., 102 points), John Brown (Ark., 114 points), Rockhurst (125 points), with Evangel placing just above the Mules, scoring 131 points.  

Central Missouri returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, for the Missouri Southern Stampede, with the women's 5k race beginning at 8:00 a.m., and the men's 8k race to follow at 8:45 a.m. from the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo.
