Jennies Softball Splits Alvy Early Memorial Classic Finale

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The Central Missouri Jennies (6-2, 0-0 MIAA) split a pair of games during the final day of the Alvy Early Memorial Classic, falling to the (Receiving Votes) Southern Arkansas Muleriders (9-0, 0-0 GAC) 7-3, before defeating the Maryville Saints (2-4, 0-0 GLVC) by a final score of 7-3 Saturday, Feb. 7, from Memorial Park in Bentonville, Ark.

The Jens continue the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 20, with a pair of games against the Lincoln Blue Tigers (0-0, 0-0 GLVC) at 2:00 p.m., before a matchup with the Minnesota State Mavericks (2-0, 0-0 NSIC) at 4:00 p.m. during the opening day of the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kan.

Game 1: RV Southern Arkansas 7, Central Missouri 3
UCM's Taylor Thompson opened the scoring with a solo shot to left field in the top of the second, before the Muleriders answered with a pair of runs in the third.

With runners on second and third with two outs in the top of the fourth, the Jens tied the ballgame as Malia Bucksath scored on a wild pitch.

Southern Arkansas responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame, as the Jens' comeback run fell short despite Marisa Johnson's RBI double in the seventh that plated Aly Hageman.

Bailey Brumley (0-1) suffered the loss in the circle, while five Jens collected a hit in the ballgame.

Game 2: Central Missouri 7, Maryville 3
For the second consecutive ballgame, Thompson opened the scoring with a homer, this time a two-run shot that scored Kyrsten Moran. Moran plated Bailey Ast in the bottom of the second, before Jadyn Sheffield scored on a wild pitch, making it 4-0 Jens.

The Saints responded with a pair of runs in the third, but Thompson blasted her second two-run dinger of the ballgame, this one to right center field, before a bases-loaded RBI walk was enough insurance as the Jens improved to 6-2 on the year.

Andi Siebeneck (3-1) earned the win in the circle, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out a pair of Maryville batters as Moran paced the Jens offensively with three hits on the day.
