HAYS, Kan. – Reese Schaaf netted 24 points, and
Taylor Weishaar added 19 points as Central Missouri Jennies Basketball upset No. 5 Fort Hays State Tigers, 81-69, on Saturday, Jan. 31, inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.
The Jennies (16-5, 10-2 MIAA) are scheduled to host the Washburn Ichabods (15-6, 8-4 MIAA) on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
UCM never trailed in the game, leading No. 5 Fort Hays State (19-2, 10-2 MIAA) for all 40 minutes of the contest on its way to the 12-point victory.
Schaaf went 9-of-15 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from the charity stripe, and pulled down 12 rebounds for her MIAA-best 11th double-double of the season.
Weishaar made five of 11 shots from the floor and went 8-of-10 at the free-throw line, while grabbing 11 rebounds, for her fifth double-double of 2025-26.
Neely Schaaf also reached double figures, with a season-best 16 points, on 5-of-8 from the floor, adding five rebounds and four assists.
For the game, Central Missouri shot 50 percent from the field (28-of-55), 33 percent from three-point range (8-of-24), and 77 percent at the free-throw line (17-of-22). The Jennies dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Tigers, 48-30, and outscoring FHSU in the paint, 38-34.
