University of Central Missouri student-athletes CJ Evans of Mules Basketball and Sophia Campbell of Jennies Soccer have been selected as the September 2026 Central Bank Student-Athletes of the Month, marking the first Central Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for the 2026-27 Academic Year.
CJ Evans, 5th Year, Mules Basketball
From nominator: "CJ is an active participant in class. He brings thoughtful ideas and active learning scenarios to classroom discussions. CJ has a desire to excel in classroom activities and is one of the first in class to volunteer. I greatly enjoy CJ in class and look forward to seeing how he does on the hardwood this fall."
Sophia Campbell, Sr., Jennies Soccer
From nominator: "Sophia has consistently demonstrated a high level of academic achievement while negotiating the extreme demands on her time required by the soccer team. Always prepared for class as well as simulator events speaks well of her intensity and desire to succeed. The demands of a Professional Pilot major are well beyond those of a traditional student. Progressing through the flight program with the demands and stress of the flight syllabus, check rides, and constant evaluation while carrying a normal academic load, in addition to participating in a varsity sport, is commendable ."
