Jennies Volleyball Tames Missouri Southern on Salute to Service Night

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The receiving votes Central Missouri Jennies (13-8, 5-2 MIAA) swept the Missouri Southern Lions (6-12, 1-6 MIAA), by final scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-21 on Friday, Oct. 9, during Salute to Service Night on Dr. Peggy Martin Court, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
 
The Jens opened the match on a 6-2 run, capped off by block assists from Grace Wagers (five kills and five total blocks overall) and Kaelyn McDonald (nine kills, a career-high nine total blocks, and three digs overall), en route to a 25-18 victory in the frame.
 
Central Missouri doubled its advantage with another 25-18 win in the second, thanks in part to a set-best five kills on nine swings (.333 hitting percentage) from outside hitter Maya Fergerson. Fergerson, a native of Blue Springs, Mo., paced the Jens offensively with a match-high 12 kills on 21 swings (.381 attack percentage), adding two blocks.
 
The Jens completed their eighth sweep of the season, including the fifth in MIAA play, thanks to a four-point victory in the third, as Central Missouri outhit the Lions by a margin of .233 to .062 on the night.
 
Central Missouri was led defensively in the back row by libero Ragin Corwin's match-high 19 digs, while junior Brenna Kelly had eight digs, and Omaha, Neb. native Chloe Rauner had a match-best 24 assists and four digs.
 
Andover, Kan. native Bella Holcomb had 14 assists and two digs, while Shaye Koski (eight kills) and Bria Dawson (five kills) ended the night with one dig and one block each in the winning effort.
 
The Jens return to the court on Friday, Oct. 16, as they take on No. 5 Nebraska-Kearney Lopers (18-1, 7-0 MIAA), during the opening match of the 2026 MIAA In-Season Tournament hosted by Northwest Missouri, with first serve beginning at 5:30 p.m., inside Bearcat Arena in Maryville.
