MARYVILLE, Mo. – The No. 11-ranked Northwest Missouri State Bearcats posted 279 rushing yards and 454 total yards of offense to help it post a 42-20 win over the No. 19-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Football team on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 10, at Bearcat Stadium.
The Mules (4-2, 3-1 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field to host the Washburn Ichabods (4-1-1, 3-1 MIAA) in the annual UCM Homecoming Game on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m.
The Bearcats (4-1, 3-1 MIAA) outscored Central Missouri in the first half, 21-7, and never looked back en route to the win.
UCM quarterback
Jordan Pachot was 25-of-44 for 267 yards with two touchdowns, while wide receivers
Marlon Lindsey, Jr., and
Armand Russell, and tight end
Morgan Pearson each had touchdowns, leading Central Missouri offensively.
Marcus Williams tallied nine tackles and a quarterback sack, while
Brian Dykstra posted an interception, pacing UCM defensively.
For the game, Northwest Missouri State outgained the Mules, 454 yards to 350 yards, including a 279-29 advantage in rushing yards. Central Missouri bested NWMSU in passing, 321-175.
Northwest Missouri quarterback Zechariah Owens was 12-of-18 for 175 yards with two passing touchdowns, and posted 58 rushing yards on 12 carries, and Quincy Torry rushed for 98 yards on 12 carries with three touchdowns, pacing the Bearcats.
