SCENE SETTER
  • University of Central Missouri Mules Football (1-2, 1-0 MIAA) is scheduled to return home to Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg on Saturday, Sept. 27, to host the Missouri Southern Lions (2-1, 0-1 MIAA) in the annual UCM Family Weekend game at 1 p.m.
  • The Mules are coming off a 34-26 victory at Missouri Western State University on Saturday, Sept. 20, in their MIAA opener in St. Joseph, Mo.
  • In UCM's victory at MoWest, quarterback Jordan Pachot threw for 401 yards, going 33-of-51, while tallying three passing touchdowns and one rushing TD. Wide receiver Hogan Wasson eclipsed 100 receiving yards in the game, compiling 135 yards on 10 catches, including a touchdown reception.
  • Through three games, Central Missouri leads the MIAA in passing offense with 1,091 yards and ranks second in total offense with 1,346 yards. It's 1,091 passing yards ranks third in all of NCAA-II Football.
  • Wasson ranks first in NCAA-II in receptions per game at 10.67 catches per game.
  • The Mules went 9-3 overall and finished tied for third in the MIAA at 6-3 last season in 2024. UCM advanced to the postseason for a second straight season, defeating the University of Texas Permian Basin, 39-37 in double overtime, in the Heritage Bowl Powered by RIOT on December 7 in Corsicana, Texas.
  • With Central Missouri's 9-3 record in 2024 and 11-2 mark in 2023, the Mules posted at least 20 wins in two consecutive seasons for just the second time in program history.
  • UCM welcomes back 11 starters from last season's team including All-MIAA selections Jack Pospisil (WR), Hogan Wasson (WR), LaAngelo Bell (RB) and Austin Bressler (LB), in addition to Talon Sanders (DB), Michael Harris (DL), Isaac Montgomery (LB), Drew Kaufman (LB), Garrett Hormann (LB), Ethan Brown (P) and JT Miller (K).
  • 2025 will be the 129th season in the history of Mules Football. UCM has played football every year since 1895, except for 1918 due to World War I.
  • Central Missouri was voted fourth in both the 2025 MIAA Preseason Coaches and Media Polls released in late July by the conference office.

PACHOT EARNS MIAA WEEKLY HONORS
  • Jordan Pachot was voted the MIAA Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week for his performance on the field during the week of Sept. 15-21.
  • Pachot threw for 401 yards and three touchdowns in the Mules' 34-26 win at Missouri Western State University on Saturday, Sept. 20, in St. Joseph, Mo. He went 33-of-51 and completed touchdown passes of three, four, and 66 yards for his 401 yards through the air.
  • In addition, he also tallied a rushing touchdown, giving him four TDs in the game.

NEW FACES
  • Mules Football welcomes 58 new student-athletes to their roster in 2025, including 36 high school freshmen and 22 transfers.
  • In addition, UCM has seven new coaches for the 2025 season. New coaches include: Rich Wright (Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line), Neil Novak (Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Backs), Vince Mayle (Wide Receivers), Jamal Morrow (Running Backs/Offensive Player Personnel), Dylan Graham (Tight Ends/Offensive Player Personnel), JaQuan Jenkins (Assistant Defensive Secondary) and Billy Musgrave (Assistant Defensive Line).
SERIES HISTORY
  • Saturday's contest against Missouri Southern will be meeting number 46 in the all-time series, going back to 1973. Central Missouri leads the overall series, 27-16-2. Last season, the Mules defeated the Lions in Warrensburg, 62-47, on Nov. 16.
LAST TIME OUT: MULES OPEN MIAA PLAY WITH 34-26 WIN AT MOWEST
  • Jordan Pachot threw for 401 yards and tallied four touchdowns, lifting University of Central Missouri Mules Football to a 34-26 victory over the Missouri Western State University Griffons in the MIAA opener for both teams on Saturday evening, Sept. 20, at Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium.
  • Pachot, a senior quarterback from Highland, Calif., went 33-for-51 for his 401 yards and completed touchdown passes of three, four, and 66 yards in his first start of the season for UCM. He also ran for a three-yard touchdown, for his four TDs for the game.
  • Central Missouri fell behind 10-0 after the first quarter but outscored the Griffons in the second quarter, 24-9, and gained a 24-19 lead after Will Peacock converted a 40-yard field goal going into halftime.
  • The Mules kept the offensive surge going in the third quarter, outscoring the Griffons, 10-0, before Missouri Western pulled within eight points in the fourth quarter, but were stopped on fourth down as time expired, sealing the win for UCM.
  • Hogan Wasson had 10 catches for 135 receiving yards and recorded a touchdown, while Jake Weber tallied 80 yards on six catches, and Latravious Boyd, and Bo Reeves each posted touchdown receptions, rounding out the UCM offensive leaders.
  • Abreham Hoskins III had 10 tackles, and Isaac Montgomery and Trenton Bell added nine tackles, and Keiair Lewis recovered a fumble, leading Central Missouri defensively.
  • The Mules outgained MoWest, 465 yards to 399 yards, including a 401-243 advantage in passing yards. Both Central Missouri and Missouri Western tallied 26 first downs in the contest.
  • Kane Donovan was 27-for-46 for 243 yards, and Brandon Hall ran for 94 yards on 17 carries, pacing MWSU.

  • The Mules are 265-189-13 overall, and 2025 is their 93rd season playing home games at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
