WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Mikayla Ernst netted two goals, and
Ryann Clark,
Izzy Joyce, and
Coryn Jespersen each added a goal as the No. 15-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Soccer Team coasted to a 5-0, shutout win over the Ouachita Baptist Tigers in the 2025 home opener for UCM on Friday, Sept. 19, at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies (2-2-1) will host Harding (2-1-1) on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg to wrap up their non-conference slate.
Clark got the scoring going early for Central Missouri, netting her first goal of the season in the sixth minute off a corner kick from
Aspen Patterson, before Joyce doubled the Jennies' advantage to 2-0 just four minutes later in the 10th minute, scoring her opening goal of 2025 via an assist from Ernst.
UCM kept the pedal to the metal, as Jespersen netted her first collegiate goal off an assist from
Patsy O'Brien in the 14th minute, upping its lead over the Tigers to 3-0.
Ernst put an exclamation point on the first half for Central Missouri in the 18th minute, converting a penalty-kick, ballooning the UCM margin to 4-0.
Ernst scored her second goal of the match and team-best fourth of the season in the 59th minute from O'Brien's second assist of the contest, making it 5-0, Jens.
For the match, Central Missouri outshot Ouachita Baptist (1-3-1) by an impressive 27-4 margin, including a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Jennies also had an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper
Kristen Wright (2-2-1) earned her third shutout of the season between the posts for UCM, allowing no goals while making two saves in 90 minutes.
