TOPEKA, Kan. – No. 2-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball fell to the Washburn Ichabods, 14-7, in a MIAA midweek game Wednesday, April 9, at Falley Field.
The Mules (25-9, 16-6 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field to host Central Oklahoma (29-8, 19-6 MIAA) in a three-game MIAA series April 11-13.
Grant Hollister went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI while
Cody Moore was 1-for-1 with his second home run of the season, three RBI, two runs and two walks, and
Jacob Steele and
Ayden Blachowicz each tallied doubles, leading UCM offensively.
Central Missouri reliever
Cody Bruss (1-1) suffered the setback on the mound after giving up four earned runs on three hits with one walk in 1 1/3 innings.
Jett Buck was 2-for-5 with two runs, two home runs and four RBI, pacing Washburn (19-19, 12-13 MIAA) at the plate.
Ichabod relief pitcher Kai Bennett (3-2) earned the victory on the rubber, allowing one unearned run on one hit with one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings of work.
