KEARNEY, Neb. – No. 21-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies golf fired a final round 12-over par 296 to coast to its third consecutive MIAA Women's Golf Championship Tuesday afternoon, April 15, at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course.
The Jennies tallied a three-round, 54-hole score of 64-over par 916 (311-309-296) during the three-day tournament to finish 22 strokes ahead of second-place Northwest Missouri State, which posted an 86-over par 938 (319-316-303). Arkansas-Fort Smith rounded out the top three in third at 91-over par 943 (315-314-314).
Central Missouri is the first MIAA women's golf program to win at least three straight conference titles since Northeastern State won four-in-a-row from 2016-2019.
Libby Green paced UCM on the leaderboard, finishing runner-up with a three-round, 17-over par 230 (72-83-75), while
Nicole Rallo also posted a top five showing, tying for fourth at 18-over par 231 (82-76-73).
Green and
Nicole Rallo were both named to the MIAA All-Tournament Team for their performances.
Kiki Bruner (83-77-72) and
Mia Rallo (76-80-76) both tied for sixth at 19-over par 232, and
Maya McVey tied for 20th at 24-over par 237 (81-76-80), wrapping up the Central Missouri scoring.
Competing as an individual,
Reece Nimmo placed 64th at 57-over par 270 (88-95-87), respectively.
Northeastern State's Sam Maceli won the MIAA Individual Championship with a three-round, 16-over par 229 (77-76-76).
The Jennies, who were ranked number one in the latest NCAA-II Central Regional Rankings, will compete in the NCAA-II Central Region Tournament May 5-7 in Edmond, Okla., at KickingBird Golf Club.
