WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri Jennies basketball outscored the Central Oklahoma Bronchos in the third and fourth quarters, 47-25, to post an 80-58 victory on Senior Day and UCM Athletic Hall of Fame Day Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
The Jennies (16-12, 8-9 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Joplin, Mo., for a MIAA game at Missouri Southern Thursday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m.
Freshman
Taylor Weishaar scored 20 points on 6-of-16 shooting and a 5-of-6 performance at the free-throw line and added nine rebounds while
Reese Schaaf notched her team and MIAA-high 15th double-double of the season with 15 points and a team-best 11 rebounds, and
Allie Clevenger,
Lauren Frost and
Cierra Smith each tallied 13 points, leading Central Missouri in the win.
UCM shot 42 percent from the field (27-of-65), 44 percent from three-point range (8-of-18) and were 82 percent from the free-throw line (18-of-22) for the game.
The Jennies narrowly outrebounded the Bronchos (7-19, 6-11 MIAA), 43-42, and outscored Central Oklahoma in the paint, 32-22, and off turnovers, 9-3.
Korie Allensworth posted a game-high 27 points while Jordyn Turner netted 13 points and snagged a game-best 17 rebounds, pacing UCO.
