BEMIDJI, Minn. – Seventh-seeded University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer saw its 2025 season come to a close after falling to the third-seeded St. Cloud State Huskies, 2-1 in overtime, in the second round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional Sunday, Nov. 23, at Chet Anderson Stadium on the St. Cloud State University campus.
The Jennies wrap up their season with an overall record of 11-6-4. UCM advanced to the NCAA-II tournament for the 15th consecutive season and 18th time in program history.
The Huskies (16-2-5) advance to the NCAA-II Central Regional Championship match with the victory.
St. Cloud State gained an early 1-0 lead after netting a goal just six minutes into the match before the Jennies found an equalizer when
Izzy Joyce blasted a pass from
Aspen Patterson into the back of the net in the 75th minute. It was Joyce's fifth goal and Patterson's fifth assist of the season.
Neither team was able to score the remaining 15 minutes of the second half, sending the contest into a 10-minute, golden-goal overtime period.
The Huskies' Grace Olson delivered the game-winner for SCSU on a shot in the 98th minute.
Central Missouri goalkeeper
Kristen Wright (11-6-4) suffered the tough-luck setback between the posts after making a career-high 10 saves and allowing two goals in 98 minutes of work.
For the match, St. Cloud State outshot UCM, 27-19, including a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Huskies also bested the Jennies in corner kicks, 6-4.
