WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Central Missouri Mules Wrestling delivered one of its strongest performances of the season Saturday, Nov. 22, at its first home tournament, the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly UCM Open, earning seven individual champions across the Open and Amateur divisions.
The Mules impressed throughout the day with a balanced mix of veteran stability and rising young talent.
In the Amateur Division, Colby Gray (149), Grant Van Horn (174), and Kaiden Powell (125) claimed titles after having strong performances that included multiple bonus-point wins against a competitive field that featured Division I, Division II, NAIA, and elite unattached entries.Â
Central Missouri added five more champions in the Open Division, where Trey Brewer (197), No. 2 Damon Ashworth (184), Colin McAlister (174), and Peyton Shepard (125) each powered through deep brackets to secure first-place finishes. UCM also secured several third- and fifth-place finishes, with numerous wrestlers advancing deep into their respective brackets.
The Mules showed pace, pressure, and strong mat control throughout the event, recording 103Â total match wins across both divisions. The performance marked one of UCM's most complete outings of the year and provided valuable momentum as the season continues.
Up Next, Central Missouri returns to action on the road, heading to Kenosha, Wis., for the Jim Koch Open on Saturday, Dec. 6, hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside.
