  • Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (1-2) is scheduled to travel to Florida for two non-conference games Friday, Nov. 21, and Monday, Nov. 24. UCM is slated to face the West Florida Argonauts (3-0) in the WBCA Showcase on Friday at 10 a.m. CT (11 a.m. ET) in Orlando at State Farm Field House before traveling to Saint Leo, Fla., for a 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET) tilt with the Saint Leo Lions (1-1) Monday at the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
  • The Jennies are coming off a 68-66 overtime loss to MSU Moorhead on Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Warrensburg.
  • Through three games, Central Missouri is paced by Reese Schaaf (19.5 ppg., 5.5 rpg., 2.0 apg., 3.0 spg., .536 FG%, .429 3Pt%, .750 FT%), Taylor Weishaar (12 ppg., 5.0 rpg., 1.5 apg., 2 bpg., .308 FG%, .333 3Pt%, .750 FT%) and Cierra Smith (11 ppg., 4 rpg., 2.3 spg., .371 FG%, .250 3Pt%, .600 FT%). 
  • Freshman Hayden Heim is averaging a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game through her opening three contests at UCM.
  • Coming into 2025-26, the Jennies welcome back four starters, including 2024-25 WBCA Honorable Mention All-American and MIAA Co-Newcomer of the Year Reese Schaaf (17 ppg., 5 rpg., 1.7 apg., .541 FG%, .500 3Pt%, .750 FT%), and All-MIAA selection Taylor Weishaar (12.7 ppg., 6.3 rpg., 2.3 apg., 1.3 bpg., .289 FG%, .263 3Pt%, .786 FT%).
  • Schaaf led the team and the MIAA in scoring and rebounding last season and tallied a team and conference-best 18 double-doubles. In addition, she scored in double figures in 31 of 32 games.
  • Weishaar paced the Jennies and the MIAA in blocks with 2.1 blocks per game in 2024-25.
  • Central Missouri also welcomes back Cierra Smith (7.4 ppg., 3 rpg., 1.3 apg., 1.2 spg.), Rylee Vierthaler (3.3 ppg., 1.8 rpg.), and Jolie Bonderer (2.3 ppg., 1.6 rpg.).

LAST TIME OUT: JENNIES DROP OVERTIME CONTEST TO MSU MOORHEAD, 68-66
  • MSU Moorhead's Emily Srejma banked in a jump shot with 11 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Dragons to a 68-66 win over the University of Central Missouri Jennies basketball team on Tuesday, Nov. 18, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
  • Central Missouri trailed MSU Moorhead, 45-39, before outscoring the Dragons in the fourth quarter, 18-12, to tie the game and send it to overtime.
  • Taylor Weishaar knotted the game, 66-66, after converting one of two free throws with 20 seconds to go in the extra period before Srejma converted what proved to be the game-winner from just beyond the free-throw line.
  • Cierra Smith tallied 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field and a 4-of-8 performance at the free-throw line, Weishaar added 14 points with nine rebounds, and Reese Schaaf and Makenzie Farmer both chipped in 12 points, leading UCM.
  • For the game, Central Missouri shot 39 percent from the field (22-of-56), 37 percent from three-point range (7-of-19), and were 15-of-22 at the free-throw line for 68 percent.
  • Both teams posted 39 rebounds in the game, and the Jennies outscored the Dragons off turnovers, 17-14, but MSU Moorhead out-paced UCM in the paint, 42-26.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with his 823 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
