COLUMBIA, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules Wrestling opened its 2025-26 season with a dominant performance, sweeping through the Missouri Duals with three convincing victories Sunday, Nov. 2, inside the Hearnes Center.

The Mules started the day strong with a 38-6 win over Missouri Valley, taking eight consecutive matches after dropping the first two. James Wright sparked the comeback with a 9-0 major decision at 141 pounds, followed by bonus-point victories from Garrett Lyons and Xerarch Tungjaroenkul. Gage Bernall delivered a 19-2 technical fall at 165, while Colin McAlister and Torin Forsyth each recorded pins to cap off the opening dual.

UCM carried that momentum into its second matchup, defeating Central Methodist, 30-15. The Mules jumped out to a 23-0 lead after six straight wins, highlighted by a pair of pins from Karim Allal (125) and Damon Ashworth (184). Lyons added a 21-6 tech fall at 149, and Drew Stanfield picked up a hard-fought 15-12 sudden victory at 133. Bernall once again controlled his match, earning an 8-0 major at 165.

Central Missouri closed out the day with a 30-15 win over Drury. After dropping the opening bout, the Mules dominated the middle weights behind big wins from Stanfield (tech fall, 133), Braeden Moore (major, 141), and Lyons (fall, 149). Ashworth notched his third win of the day with another pin at 184, while McAlister and Forsyth each earned decisions to finish off the sweep.

The Mules return to action next weekend, traveling to Lebanon, Ill., to take on McKendree on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m.
