WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 24 Central Missouri Jennies (12-3, 4-1 MIAA) swept the Missouri Southern Lions (6-10, 0-5 MIAA) by a final score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-15) Tuesday, Oct. 7, during Cancer Awareness Night / Pink Out Match from Dr. Peggy Martin Court, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
Leading by four in the opening set of the match, the Jens began a 10-1 run with a kill from middle blocker
Kaelyn McDonald, cruising to a 25-14 win in the first. McDonald, the reigning MIAA Defensive Athlete of the week, ended the match with 11 kills on 21 swings (.429 hitting percentage), two service aces and one block for good measure.
With the score even at six in the second set, Central Missouri began a 4-1 run with a kill from junior
Maya Fergerson and never relinquished the set, doubling their advantage with a 25-20 win. Fergerson led the way for the Jens with five of her six kills on the night in the second frame.
Central Missouri completed its seventh sweep of the season, ending the contest on a 13-4 run led by three kills from redshirt sophomore
Emma Siron (match-high 14 kills, and six digs overall), as the Jens out-hit Missouri Southern by a margin of .303 to .165 on the night.

Bria Dawson tied a season-high seven kills on the night, while opposite
Lauren Blake added four kills and two digs in the winning effort.
Defensively, two back row players collected double-digit digs, including redshirt senior
Grace Winkelmann's match-best 16 digs, adding four assists, and three service aces, while defensive specialist
Ragin Corwin matched her career-high mark of 13 digs for good measure.
Kayla Baer ended the contest with a match-high 36 assists, as the reigning MIAA Setter of the Week added eight digs, two kills, and one block, while Aurora, Colo. native
Brenna Kelly collected six digs in the winning effort.
No. 24 Central Missouri continues MIAA play Friday, Oct. 10, as they head to John Lance Arena for a matchup with the Pittsburg State Gorillas (8-7, 2-3 MIAA) beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Pittsburg, Kan.
