WICHITA, Kan. – Hazel Douglas-Trotman netted two goals and
Patsy O'Brien tallied a goal and assist, helping the No. 9-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team to a 3-0 shutout win over the Newman Jets Sunday, Oct. 19, at Wilkins Field.
The Jennies (8-2-4, 5-0-3 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Topeka, Kan., for a MIAA match at Washburn (8-2-2, 5-0-1 MIAA) Friday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium.
Douglas-Trotman, a freshman from Blue Springs, Mo., scored her first and second collegiate goals of the season in the opening 20 minutes of the match. She put UCM ahead, 1-0, with her first goal in the 11th minute off an assist from O'Brien before doubling the Central Missouri advantage to 2-0 with her second goal via a corner kick from
Coryn Jespersen in the 18th minute.
The score stayed 2-0 until late in the match, in the 82nd minute, when O'Brien found the back of the net for her fourth goal of 2025, securing the Jennies' 3-0 victory.
For the match, UCM outshot Newman (1-11-2, 0-7-1 MIAA), 23-5, including a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Jennies also bested the Jets in corner kicks, 13-2.
Goalkeeper
Kristen Wright (8-2-4) earned her team-best seventh shutout of the season after going the full 90 minutes between the posts and allowing zero goals while making three saves.
