TOPEKA, Kan. – University of Central Missouri Mules Football couldn't overcome eight turnovers as it fell to the Washburn Ichabods, 37-17, in a MIAA game played Saturday, Oct. 18, at Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl.
The Mules (3-4, 3-2 MIAA) are scheduled to host Emporia State (3-3, 2-2 MIAA) in the annual UCM Homecoming Game Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg.
Quarterback
Donovyn Omolo went 25-of-32 for 217 yards and one touchdown, while fellow quarterback
Mac Harper was 8-of-13 for 52 yards.
Latravious Boyd tallied 80 rushing yards on 14 carries,
Keyon Butler added 60 rushing yards on 10 carries with a touchdown,
Jake Weber posted 60 receiving yards on eight catches, and
Bo Reeves caught a 13-yard touchdown pass and compiled 19 receiving yards on two catches, leading UCM offensively in the game.
UCM outgained Washburn (2-5, 1-4 MIAA), 465 yards to 370 yards, including a 269-231 advantage in passing yards and a 196-139 advantage in rushing yards, but had six interceptions and two lost fumbles for its eight total turnovers in the game.
Izziek Chandler and
Garrett Hormann each had six tackles, and
Joe Morrison forced a fumble, pacing Central Missouri defensively.
Washburn quarterback Logan Madden was 20-of-31 for 231 yards with two touchdowns, leading the Ichabods.
