- Ninth-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer (7-2-3, 4-0-2 MIAA) is scheduled to continue MIAA play with a pair of road matches against the Central Oklahoma Bronchos (4-4-4, 2-2-2 MIAA) and Newman Jets (1-9-2, 0-5-1 MIAA) on Friday, Oct. 17, at Sunday, Oct. 19. UCM will face the Bronchos in Edmond, Okla., at 7 p.m. Friday before trekking to Wichita, Kan., for a 1 p.m. contest vs. the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 19.
- Central Missouri went 2-0 last week, defeating then No. 24-ranked Northwest Missouri State Oct. 10, 2-1, before shutting out Missouri Western, 1-0, Oct. 12.
- Through 12 matches, the Jennies are paced by forwards Mikayla Ernst (11 G, 5 A, 27 Pts, 50 Sh, 26 SOG, .520 SOG%, 4 GWG, 2-3 PK), Izzy Joyce (3 G, 4 A, 10 Pts, 17 Sh, 11 SOG, .647 SOG%) and Patsy O'Brien (3 G, 2 A, 8 Pts, 18 Sh, 10 SOG, .556 SOG%, 1 GWG), and midfielder Coryn Jespersen (3 G, 2 A, 8 Pts, 13 Sh, 8 SOG, .615 SOG%, 1 GWG).
- Ernst currently leads the MIAA and ranks third in NCAA Division II in goals scored (11). In addition, she leads the conference and is second in the country in points (27).
- In goal for UCM, goalkeeper Kristen Wright is 7-2-3 with a team-best five shutouts. She has allowed just seven goals while making 40 saves for a 0.60 goals-against average (GAA) in 1042:33 minutes.

Ernst Joins the UCM Record Book
- Mikayla Ernst became just the third player in program history to score a Central Missouri single-match record four goals in UCM's 7-2 win over Harding Sept. 21. Ernst joins former Jennies Jada Scott (vs. Missouri Western in 2016) and Sarah Bourn (vs. Southwest Baptist in 1995) at the top of the single-match goals scored record list with her four goals.

- Jennies Soccer was voted No. 1 in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2025 season.

- Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 94-7-3 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 69 goals.
- All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 169-17-10 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 233-38-11 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.
Series History
- Central Oklahoma: UCM and Central Oklahoma will meet for the 30th time in the all-time series Friday evening in Edmond, Okla. The Jennies lead the series, 18-7-4. UCM faced UCO three times last season, winning the regular season contest in Warrensburg, 3-0, before blanking Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Tournament Championship match in Wichita, Kan., 1-0, and taking down the Bronchos in the NCAA-II Central Regional Second Round in Warrensburg, 2-0.
- Newman: The Jennies and Jets will meet for the sixth time in the all-time series Sunday in Wichita. UCM is a perfect 5-0 in the series. Central Missouri bested Newman last season in Warrensburg, 7-0.
Weekly Honors
- Jennies Soccer's Mackenzie Smith was voted the MIAA Defensive Athelte of the Week for her performance on the soccer pitch during the week of Oct. 13-19, it was announced Tuesday, Oct. 14.
- Smith helped the Jennies go 2-0-0 last week in a pair of MIAA home matches. UCM defeated No. 24-ranked Northwest Missouri State Friday, Oct. 10, 2-1, before shutting out Missouri Western Sunday, Oct. 12, 1-0. Smith netted her first goal of the season in the 10th minute of Central Missouri's victory over the Bearcats Friday off an assist from Kate Ricker, putting the Jennies ahead early, 1-0.
- On the week, Smith played 177 minutes and tallied two points with her goal Friday.

New Faces for 2025
Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Lewis Theobald, now in his 18th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA but also in NCAA Division II.
The 11-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year has an impressive 315-53-30 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in both Jennies soccer and MIAA women's soccer history. He brought home the program's first-ever National Championship in the 2017 season.
Theobald enters the 2025 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .833 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He is also the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is fifth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.

He has coached 142 All-Conference players, including Most Valuable Players Melanie Hall, Kayla Shain and two-time Player of the Year Alyssa Rhodes; Offensive Players of the Years Carly Stanley, Julie Ireland, Jada Scott, Kassie Newsom and Julia Kristensen; Freshmen of the Year Alyssa Rhodes, Stanley, Hannah Pyle, Alexis Robbers, Nicki Wisnasky,
Caroline Cole, Julia Kristensen and

A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.
