WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (7-7, 2-3 MIAA) fell to the Northwest Missouri Bearcats (4-10, 2-3 MIAA) by a final score of 63-62 on Thursday, Jan. 9, during First Responders Night inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
The Bearcats led by nine at the break before coming away with the victory thanks to a defensive stand with five seconds remaining as Northwest picks up their fourth win on the year led by Byron Alexander's 11 points and five rebounds.
The Mules had two players finish the night in double figures including guard
Kyran Tilley (game-high 13 points, team-high four rebounds, and two steals) and senior
DeAirius Barker (12 points and two rebounds).
Oklahoma City, Okla. native
Josh Nwankwo contributed eight points, team-best four rebounds, and three steals while sophomore
Corey Skillman Jr. had seven points and two rebounds for good measure.

Kyree Polk (two rebounds), Kansas City, Mo. native
Elijah Farr (team-high four boards), and forward
Jack Chapman (three rebounds) scored six points each while freshman
Jake Fritz added three points and Dallas, Texas native
Tim Jordan Jr. had a team-high two assists, and one rebound on the night.
Central Missouri returns to the court on Thursday, Jan. 9, as they continue MIAA play hosting the Missouri Western Griffons (10-5, 2-3 MIAA) at 1:10 p.m. for We Back Pat Day inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
