- No. 4-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer (3-1) is slated to play a pair of road matches Thursday, Sept. 19, in Dallas, Texas, at No. 16 Dallas Baptist (2-0-1) at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 21, at Oklahoma Baptist (0-3) at noon in Shawnee, Okla.
- The Jennies split a pair of home matches last week against two ranked opponents, defeating then No. 15-ranked Minnesota State, 1-0, Sept. 13, before falling to then No. 2-ranked Grand Valley State, 2-1, Sept. 15.
- Central Missouri is ranked No. 4 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll released Tuesday, Sept. 17, while Dallas Baptist is ranked No. 16.

- Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 81-5-2 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 63 goals.
- All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 156-15-9 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 220-36-10 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.
New Faces in the 'Burg
Series History
- Dallas Baptist: The Jennies and Patriots will meet for just the fourth time in the all-time series Thursday in Dallas. The Patriots lead the series, 2-1. UCM and DBU last met in 2011, with Dallas Baptist defeating UCM, 1-0 in Warrensburg.
- Oklahoma Baptist: UCM and Oklahoma Baptist will meet for the third time in the all-time series Saturday in Shawnee, Okla. The Jennies are 2-0 in the series. Central Missouri and Oklahoma Baptist last met in 2022, with UCM posting a 3-1 victory in Warrensburg.
Last Time Out for the Jennies: No. 4 Jennies Fall to No. 2 Grand Valley State, 2-1
- The No. 4-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the No. 2-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers Sunday, Sept. 15, at the South Recreation Complex.
- The Lakers (3-0-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 21st-miniute before upping their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 79th-minute.
- Central Missouri was able to trim the lead to 2-1 after Ashleigh Martin converted a penalty-kick goal in the 83rd-minute, but UCM couldn't find an equalizer in the final seven minutes of the match.
- For the match, the Jennies outshot the Lakers, 24-7, including a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal. UCM also bested GVSU in corner kicks, 8-4.
- Martin tallied three shots on goal and her second goal of 2024, pacing Central Missouri offensively.
- Central Missouri goalkeeper Kristen Wright (3-1-0) suffered the setback between the posts, allowing two goals while making three saves in 90 minutes.
Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Lewis Theobald, now in his 17th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA, but in all of NCAA Division II.
The 11-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year, enters the 2024 season with an impressive 294-47-25 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in both Jennies soccer and MIAA women's soccer history. He brought home the program's first ever National Championship in the 2017 season.
Theobald enters the 2024 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .838 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He also is the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is fifth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.
During his tenure, Theobald has coached 21 All-Americans in
Andree Orcutt, Lindsay Edmonds, Julia Kristensen, Kassie Newsom,
Caroline Cole, Ana Dilkes, Emily Eldridge, Baylie Edwards, Randi Fernsler, Allysa Gann, Kayla Hamner, Julie Ireland, Becky Lackey, Cindy Lackey, Abby Rhodes, Alyssa Rhodes, Jada Scott, Carly Stanley, Jenna Stones, Makayla Toth and Megan Woolley and has led 55 players to All-Region status. He also coached Dilkes, a goalkeeper, to a National Player of the Year honor during the 2017 season.
He has coached 135 All-Conference players, including Most Valuable Players Melanie Hall, Kayla Shain and two-time Player of the Year Alyssa Rhodes; Offensive Players of the Years Carly Stanley, Julie Ireland, Jada Scott, Kassie Newsom and Julia Kristensen; Freshmen of the Year Alyssa Rhodes, Stanley, Hannah Pyle, Alexis Robbers, Nicki Wisnasky,
Caroline Cole and Julia Kristensen; Defenders of the Year, Emily Eldridge, Allysa Gann, Cindy Lackey and Abby Rhodes; two-time Goalkeeper of the Year Lindsey Johnson and four-time Goalkeeper of the Year Ana Dilkes.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.
On the Horizon
