  • University of Central Missouri Jennies basketball (19-7, 13-7 MIAA) is scheduled to wrap up the 2023-24 regular season with a pair of home MIAA games against Rogers State (10-16, 5-15 MIAA) and Northeastern State (14-12, 10-10) Thursday, Feb. 29, and Saturday, March 2, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg. The Jennies are slated to face the Rogers State Hillcats Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before hosting the RiverHawks from Northeastern State Saturday at 1 p.m.
  • Thursday's game is a White Out game. All UCM fans are encouraged to wear white to the contest. 
  • Saturday's game will be Senior Day for the Jennies. The team will honor its seniors in a pregame ceremony.
  • For Saturday's games vs. Northeastern State, any fan who brings their ticket from Thursday's (Feb. 29) games vs. Rogers State will receive one (1) FREE GENERAL ADMISSION ticket.   • Central Missouri is coming off a 69-56 win at Washburn Feb. 24 in Topeka, Kan.
  • Through 26 games, the Central Missouri is paced by Brooke Littrell (19.4 ppg., 8.5 rpg., 2.6 apg., 1.2 spg.), Olivia Nelson (15.1 ppg., 4.0 apg., 2.0 spg., 2.2 rpg.) and Ashley Tull (10.3 ppg., 6.3 rpg., 1.2 bpg.).
  • Littrell leads the MIAA in scoring through 26 games with her 19.4 points per game and is second with her .877 free-throw percentage.
  • As a team through 26 contests, the Jennies are shooting 44.9 percent from the floor, 29 percent from three-point range and 75 percent at the free-throw line. UCM is outscoring its opponents, 74.4-63.6 and outrebounding adversaries, 37.6-32.2.
Last Time Out for UCM: Jennies Basketball Turns Back Washburn Saturday, 69-56
  • Brooke Littrell scored 29 points helping Central Missouri Jennies basketball turn back the Washburn Ichabods, 69-56, in a MIAA game Saturday, Feb. 24, inside Lee Arena.
  • Littrell went 11-of-16 from the field and 7-of-8 at the free-throw line for her game-high 29 points while also snagging six rebounds, recording four blocks and compiling three steals. Olivia Nelson added nine points, Lauren Frost had a team-high four assists, and Ashley Tull pulled down a team-best 10 rebounds, rounding out the UCM leaders in the victory.
  • For the game, Central Missouri shot 39 percent from the field (25-of-64), 29 percent from three-point range (4-of-14) and were 15-of-22 at the free-throw line for 68 percent. The Jennies outrebounded the Ichabods, 37-32, and outscored Washburn in the paint, 40-26, and off turnovers, 33-11.
Individual Milestones
  • Brooke Littrell is 35 points shy of becoming just the third Jenny in school history to reach at least 2,000 career points. Entering Thursday's game vs. Rogers State, she sits at 1,965 points in 112 career games played. Tammy Wilson (2,104 points -- 1985-89) and Carla Eades (2,098 points -- 1980-84) are currently the only two Jennies to surpass 2,000 career points.
  • UCM head coach Dave Slifer earned his 800th career win as a head coach in the 78-65 win over then No. 24-ranked Missouri Southern Feb. 10 in Joplin, Mo. Slifer is an impressive 419-178 in his now 20 seasons as the Central Missouri women's basketball head coach. He's already the winningest head coach in both UCM and MIAA women's basketball history, and the second-winningest coach in NCAA Division II history (803 career victories in 35 seasons).

  • Central Missouri was picked first in both the 2023-24 MIAA Preseason Coaches and Media Polls. UCM received 167 points and 11 first-place votes in the coaches poll and 283 points and four first-place votes in the media poll.
Jennies Basketball Inks High School Standout Taylor Weishaar During Signing Period
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced the signing of Riverside High School standout Taylor Weishaar to a National Letter of Intent during the 2023-24 signing period Friday, Nov. 17.
  • Weishaar: 2023 Sports in Kansas 2A Player of the Year…First Team All-State as a junior…Two-time unanimous first team all-league…Second Team All-State as a sophomore…All-State Honorable Mention and all-league honorable mention as a freshman…four-year letterwinner…Averaged 17.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.5 blocks per game as a junior…Helped her team to a Kansas 2A Substate Championship and Kansas 2A State Runner Up finish…Was also a four-year letterwinner in volleyball…First team all-league volleyball as a junior and senior…Daughter of Russell and Lori Weishaar…Plans to major in exercise science at UCM.
