SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Central Missouri Mules (5-5, 1-1 MIAA) fell to the Texas Permian Basin Falcons (8-2, 4-1 LSC) by a final score of 83-60 in the opening day of the River City Holiday Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 17, inside the Northeast ISD Sports Gym in San Antonio.
Texas Permian Basin led by 13 at the break and never relinquished earning their eighth win of the season highlighted by Maison Adeleye's game-high 29 points and three boards.
UCM was paced offensively by Overland Park, Kan. native
Jake Fritz who contributed 13 points going 4-for-9 from the field including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc adding three rebounds and two assists. Forward
Elijah Farr (team-high six rebounds) and sophomore
Corey Skillman Jr. had 10 points each while Oklahoma City, Okla. native
Josh Nwankwo added nine points, a career-high six steals, and five boards.
Guard
DeAirius Barker finished the contest with eight points, two rebounds, and two assists, plus, senior
KJ Lee (two rebounds and two assists) and forward
Tim Jordan Jr. (two rebounds) added four points. The Mules outscored UTPB in bench points by a margin of 29-4 aided by senior
Jack Chapman's two points and three rebounds for good measure.
Central Missouri returns to the court on Wednesday, Dec. 18, as they conclude the River City Holiday Classic against No. 9 North Georgia (9-1, 1-0 PBC) beginning at 11:00 a.m. inside the Northeast ISD Sports Gym in San Antonio, Texas.
