  • The third-seeded Central Missouri Jennies soccer team (12-4-2) is slated to host sixth-seeded Northwest Missouri State (7-5-6) in the 2024 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals Sunday afternoon, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg. 
  • The Jennies are coming off a pair of MIAA road wins to wrap up the regular season, rolling to a 6-0 victory at Missouri Southern Nov. 1 before taking down Pittsburg State, 2-1, Nov. 3. 
  • Through 18 matches, the Jennies are paced by forwards Ashleigh Martin (9 G, 4 A, 22 Pts, 29 Sh, .310 Shot%, 17 SOG, .586 SOG%, 2 GW, 3-3 PK) and Izzy Joyce (7 G, 3 A, 17 Pts, 43 Sh, .163 Shot%, 17 SOG, .395 SOG%, 3 GW), and midfielders Caroline Cole (7 G, 5 A, 19 Pts, 35 Sh, .200 Shot%, 18 SOG, .514 SOG%, 3 GW), Lexie Ruf (4 G, 4 A,  12 Pts, 26 Sh, .154 Sh%, 11 SOG, .423 SOG%, 2 GW) and Andree Orcutt (4 G, 8 Pts, 16 Sh, .250 Sh%, 8 SOG, .500 SOG).
  • Through 18 matches, Martin leads the MIAA in goals (9) and points (22); Joyce is tied for first in game-winning goals (3), tied for sixth in goals (7) and tied for seventh in points (17); Cole is tied for first in game-winning goals (3),third in assists (5), fifth in points (19) and tied for sixth in goals (7); and Aspen Patterson is second in assists (6). 
  • In goal through 18 matches, Central Missouri paced by Kristen Wright (12-4-2, 11 GA, 71 SV, 0.71 GAA, .866 Save%, 5 SHO). 
  • Wright is second in the MIAA in save percentage (.866), third in goals-against average (GAA) at 0.71 and seventh in shutouts per game at .278
  • As a team, Central Missouri paces the conference in goals (48) and corner kicks (158).

Jennies Second in Most Recent NCAA-II Central Regional Rankings (full rankings)
  • Central Missouri Jennies soccer is ranked second in the most recent NCAA-II Central Regional Rankings released Wednesday, Nov. 6. 
  • The top eight teams in the final regional rankings released on Monday, Nov. 18, will qualify for the NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament.

  • Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 86-6-2 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 65 goals.
  • All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 161-16-9 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 225-37-10 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times. 
Series History
  • Northwest Missouri State: UCM and Northwest Missouri will meet for the 47th time in the all-time series Sunday in Warrensburg. The Jennies lead the series, 37-3-6. Earlier this season on Oct. 11 in Maryville, Mo., Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri State battled to a 4-4 tie. The Jennies and Bearcats have only met once in the MIAA tournament, with UCM posting a 4-0 win over NWMSU in the 2011 quarterfinals. 
Last Time Out for the Jennies: Central Missouri Takes Down Pittsburg State in Regular Season Finale, 2-1
  • Central Missouri Jennies soccer wrapped up its 2024 regular season schedule with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburg State Gorillas Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch.
  • Andree Orcutt put Central Missouri ahead, 1-0, in the 38th-minute with her fourth goal of the season.
  • Pittsburg State leveled the match, 1-1, with a goal in the 52nd-minute but UCM answered, taking a 2-1 lead after Izzy Joyce took a pass from Ashleigh Martin and powered it into the back of the net for her seventh goal of 2024.
  • For the match, UCM outshot Pittsburg State, 16-10, including an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Jennies also bested the Gorillas in corner kicks, 8-2.
  • Central Missouri goalkeeper Kristen Wright (12-4-2) earned the victory in goal, giving up one goal while making one save in 90 minutes.
Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Lewis Theobald, now in his 17th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA, but in all of NCAA Division II.

The 11-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year, has an impressive 303-50-27 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in both Jennies soccer and MIAA women's soccer history. He brought home the program's first ever National Championship in the 2017 season.

Theobald enters the 2024 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .838 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He also is the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is fifth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.  

During his tenure, Theobald has coached 21 All-Americans in Andree Orcutt, Lindsay Edmonds, Julia Kristensen, Kassie Newsom, Caroline Cole, Ana Dilkes, Emily Eldridge, Baylie Edwards, Randi Fernsler, Allysa Gann, Kayla Hamner, Julie Ireland, Becky Lackey, Cindy Lackey, Abby Rhodes, Alyssa Rhodes, Jada Scott, Carly Stanley, Jenna Stones, Makayla Toth and Megan Woolley and has led 55 players to All-Region status. He also coached Dilkes, a goalkeeper, to a National Player of the Year honor during the 2017 season.

He has coached 135 All-Conference players, including Most Valuable Players Melanie Hall, Kayla Shain and two-time Player of the Year Alyssa Rhodes; Offensive Players of the Years Carly Stanley, Julie Ireland, Jada Scott, Kassie Newsom and Julia Kristensen; Freshmen of the Year Alyssa Rhodes, Stanley, Hannah Pyle, Alexis Robbers, Nicki Wisnasky, Caroline Cole and Julia Kristensen; Defenders of the Year, Emily Eldridge, Allysa Gann, Cindy Lackey and Abby Rhodes; two-time Goalkeeper of the Year Lindsey Johnson and four-time Goalkeeper of the Year Ana Dilkes.

A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.

If the Jennies win, they'll move on to the MIAA tournament semifinals Thursday, Nov. 14, in Wichita, Kan.
