SCENE SETTER
  • University of Central Missouri Mules football (4-3, 2-3 MIAA) is scheduled to host the Washburn Ichabods (2-5, 2-4 MIAA) in the annual UCM Homecoming Game Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg.
  • The Mules are coming off a 35-30 victory at Northwest Missouri State Saturday, Oct. 19, in Maryville, Mo. It marked UCM's first win over the Bearcats in Maryville since 2003.
  • Through seven games, UCM leads NCAA Division II in passing offense (410.9 yards/game) and ranks fourth in total offense (511.3 yards/game).
  • Individually, quarterback Zach Zebrowski is first in passing yards per game (409.3), passing yards (2,865), passing TDs (27) and total offense (444.1 yards/game), and ranks second in completions per game (32.6 completions/game), while receiver Zach Patterson is eighth in receiving yards per game (102.6) and ninth in receiving yards (718).
  • The Mules were tabbed the preseason favorite in both the MIAA Preseason Coaches' and Media Preseason Polls. Washburn was picked ninth in both preseason polls.

  • Saturday's game will be broadcast live on 1450 KOKO, "Your Country" 98.5 The BAR and warrensburgradio.com with Greg Hassler calling the action, Joe Moore providing color commentary, and Ella Bland on the sidelines.

WEEKLY HONORS UCM LEADERS AIRING IT OUT
  • Going into Saturday's game, the Mules have five wide receivers who have at least 200 receiving yards on the season. Zach Patterson (718 yards, 35 catches, 5 TD), Hogan Wasson (349 yards, 29 catches, 2 TD), Jack Pospisil (30 catches, 334 yards, 1 TD), NyNy Davis (24 catches, 288 yards, 3 TD) and Derrick Rose (19 catches, 220 yards, 2 TD) all have compiled at least 200 receiving yards through UCM's seven contests.
  • Patterson tallied a UCM single-game record 232 receiving yards on 10 catches in Central Missouri's game at Fort Hays State Oct. 5. His 232 yards through the air bested the previous record of 230 yards set by Jamar Howard at Emporia State in 2011.
PICK SIX FOR THE RECORD BOOKS!
  • Isaac Montgomery tallied a UCM single-game record 100-yard, pick-six in the Mules' 35-30 win at Northwest Missouri State Saturday. His 100-yard interception return for a TD was the fifth in MIAA history and 75th in NCAA Division II Football history.
ADVANCING UP THE CAREER CHARTS
  • Quarterback Zach Zebrowski continues to climb the UCM career records charts. Through 20 career games at UCM, he ranks second in career pass completions (645) and touchdown passes (88), and third in passing yards (8,022) and total offense (8,780 yards - 758 rush, 8,022 pass).
SERIES HISTORY
  • Saturday's game in Warrensburg will be the 53rd meeting in the all-time series with Washburn dating all the way back to 1902. The Mules lead the series, 29-21-2. Last season, UCM rolled to a 58-28 win over the Ichabods at Yager Stadium in Topeka, Kan.
LAST TIME OUT VS. WASHBURN: NO. 25 MULES FOOTBALL ROLLS PAST WASHBURN ON THE ROAD SATURDAY
  • No. 25-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules football posted a 58-28 victory over the Washburn Ichabods in a MIAA game played on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at Yager Stadium.
  • UCM quarterback Zach Zebrowski threw for 369 yards, going 40-for-48 with five touchdowns and added 25 rushing yards while running back Marcellous Hawkins rushed for a career-high 144 yards on six carries with two touchdowns, pacing Central Missouri offensively in the game.
  • Running back Weston Bridges tallied both a rushing and passing touchdown, and receivers Zach Phipps, Price Morgan, Arkell Smith and Demarcus Gregory each caught touchdown passes.
  • Defensively for the Mules, Cale Miller compiled a team-best seven tackles, and Reyjon Williams and Josh Culwell added interceptions.
  • For the game, Central Missouri outgained Washburn, 659 yards (season-high) to 314 yards, including a 282-163 advantage in rushing and 377-151 edge in passing.
  • UCM outscored Washburn, 12-7 in the first quarter, 22-7 in the second quarter, 14-7 in the third quarter and 10-7 in the fourth quarter for the final 58-28 tally.
THE MULES AT HOME
  • The Mules are 263-188-13 overall and 2024 is their 92nd season playing home games at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
  • Under Josh Lamberson, Central Missouri is 12-3 at home.

  • Central Missouri has scored in 345 straight games, a MIAA record.

  • In the 127 seasons of UCM Football the Mules have compiled a 599-538-51 record.
  • The Mules have won 10 or more games five times in the history of the program and have posted 14 seasons of eight or more wins.
  • UCM tied the program-record for wins in a season with 11 in 2023. The Mules also won 11 games in 2019 and 2010.
  • UCM has won or shared 14 MIAA championships in school history with the last coming in 2023.
  • The Mules have qualified for the postseason 11 times in their history, including five trips to the NCAA-II Playoffs, the last coming in 2023.
MULES IN THE PROS
  • Former Mules' All-American tight end Zach Davidson (2016-2020) was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
  • He marked the 12th Mules football player to be drafted in program history and the first since former UCM standout tight end Delanie Walker in 2006.
  • In program history, 79 Central Missouri football players have either been drafted or signed professional free-agent contracts.
