TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball continues MIAA play with a pair of matchups hosting the Washburn Ichabods (Wednesday, Jan. 10) beginning at 7:30 p.m. before taking on the Emporia State Hornets (Saturday, Jan. 13) with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.  
 
ON THE AIR 
  • Both games will be broadcasted on 1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and warrensburgradio.com with Greg Hassler and Kim Anderson on the call.
  • All games will be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening and 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.  
 
MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (6-6, 1-5) defeated the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers (5-7, 2-5) by a final score of 76-73 on Saturday night inside the Health & Sports Center in Kearney, Neb.  
  • Nebraska-Kearney led by nine at the break and by as many as 15 in the second half, but the Mules took the lead for good with a layup from guard Jalen Knott (18 points, six rebounds, three steals, and two assists overall) with one minute to play as head coach Adam Bohac earns his first win in MIAA play.
  • Central Missouri redshirt senior Keith Kiner III led the way with a career and game-high 32 points going 14-of-17 from the field adding a team-high eight rebounds, a team-high four steals, and three assists for good measure.
  • Guard Jordan Hayes contributed a season-best 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals while freshman Tim Jordan Jr. had eight points and three rebounds respectively.
  • Rounding out the scoring for the Mules was forward Yafet Haile (four points) and redshirt senior Caleb Nero (three points and two assists) who each grabbed four rebounds in the winning effort. 
 
UCM BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through 12 games this season, the Mules are averaging 65.2 points per game while shooting 39.4 percent from the field, including 30 percent from beyond the arc and 72.6 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 34.5 rebounds, 11.1 assists, 6.1 steals, and 2.3 blocks per contest.
  • The Mules have four players averaging double figure scoring this season including redshirt senior Caleb Nero (13.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest), guard Jalen Knott (12 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game), redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (11.9 points, five rebounds, one block, and one assist per contest), and forward Tim Jordan Jr. (10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game).   
 
SERIES HISTORY VS WASHBURN
  • Ahead of Wednesday night's matchup, the Ichabods lead the all-time series 54-52 dating back to the 1911-12 season.
  • The Mules hold a 28-19 advantage in Warrensburg following last season's 65-53 loss to Washburn in February of 2023.
  • Sophomore Jack Chapman led the Mules with 12 points, eight rebounds, and two steals while forward Gaven Pinkley added nine points and four rebounds respectively.  
 
SERIES HISTORY VS EMPORIA STATE
  • Saturday's contest will be the 119th all-time meeting between the Hornets and Mules with UCM holding a 73-45 record dating back to the 1906-07 season.
  • The Mules have a 49-17 record in Warrensburg after last season's 68-66 overtime loss to ESU in February of 2023.
  • Guard Garrett Luinstra led UCM with a game-high 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals while redshirt sophomore Mikel Henderson added 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists for good measure.

  • Central Missouri continues MIAA play on Thursday, Jan. 18, as they head to Tahlequah, Okla. for a MIAA matchup with the Northeastern State RiverHawks beginning at 7:30 p.m. from the NSU Event Center.
