  • Central Missouri volleyball (1-2, 0-0) returns to the court for the Colorado Premier Challenge hosted by Regis University and Metropolitan State University of Denver beginning Friday, Sept. 8 and continuing Saturday, Sept. 9 in Denver, Colo.
  • The Jens are scheduled for a pair of matches Friday, Sept. 8, against No. 13 West Florida (2-1, 0-0) at 11:00 a.m. followed by No. 16 Cal State LA (1-3, 0-0) beginning at 7:00 p.m. from Regis Field House.   
  • UCM went 1-2 last weekend at the Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Volleyball Classic sweeping No. 24 Gannon 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-18) and falling to No. 5 Tampa and Missouri S&T from the Bob Martinez Athletics Center in Tampa, Fla.

  • All matches of the Colorado Premier Challenge will be available free of charge through the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Digital Network with coverage beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8.  
 
Series History
  • No. 13 West Florida: Heading into the opening match of the Colorado Premier Challenge on Friday morning, the Jens hold an 8-3 record all-time against West Florida dating back to 2004. Last season, the fifth-ranked Argonauts defeated UCM in five sets in the final match of the Springhill Suites Invitational in Pensacola, Fla. Two Jennies recorded double-double performances including setter Olivia Olson (team-high 21 assists and 17 digs) and outside hitter Sydney Lierz (team-high 14 kills and 12 digs).   
  • No. 16 Cal State LA: This will be the second all-time meeting between the Golden Eagles and Central Missouri in the Colorado Premier Challenge on Friday evening. Their first meeting came in 2007, when the Jens swept Cal State LA 3-0 (30-23, 30-17, 30-20) in UCM's third match of the tournament.
 
Jens by the Numbers
  • Middle blocker Grace Southern ranks second in the conference averaging 1.75 blocks per set and fourth in the MIAA with 3.83 points per set. The redshirt junior from Carl Junction, Mo. has recorded five or more blocks in all three matches so far this season (a team-high 21 overall) including a career-high 11 against Missouri S&T.
  • Redshirt senior Olivia Olson is currently third in the MIAA with 9.42 assists per set leading the Jens with 113 on the year while recording double-double performances against Tampa (match-high 34 assists and 11 digs) and Missouri S&T (career-high 50 assists and career-high 18 digs).
  • Outside hitter Kersti Nix leads Central Missouri with 34 kills this season averaging a team-high 2.83 kills per set.
  • Redshirt sophomore Grace Winkelmann has a team-best 35 digs averaging a team-high 2.92 digs per set.

  • Central Missouri is scheduled to begin MIAA conference play on Thursday, Sept. 14, against the Missouri Western Griffons with first serve at 6:00 p.m. from MWSU Fieldhouse in St. Joseph, Mo.
