  • Central Missouri volleyball (5-5, 2-0) continues a three-match home stand on Friday, Sept. 22, at 6:00 p.m. against the Emporia State Hornets and Saturday, Sept. 23, at 2:00 p.m. hosting No. 13 Washburn Ichabods from the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.     
  • The Jens fell to No. 25 Rockhurst Hawks by a final score of 3-2 (25-23, 26-28, 22-25, 25-16, 12-15) on Tuesday, Sept. 19, inside the Multipurpose Building.     
  • Redshirt senior Olivia Olson was named the MIAA Setter of the Week for her play on the court last week as she eclipsed 87 assists (10.88 assists per set) over two matches highlighted by a career-high 60 assists in the victory over No. 18 Northwest Missouri (Sept. 16) inside Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo.      
 
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City Match
  • Saturday's match against No. 13 Washburn will be the second annual fundraiser benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.
  • Fans who make a monetary donation of $10 or donate valued items of $10 or more, will receive free admission into the match, plus, a coupon good for a free frozen treat item from McDonald's of Warrensburg.
  • Donation items needed include travel size toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap & body wash), travel-sized toothpaste, all types of feminine hygiene products, paper towels, combs & hair brushes, cotton balls & q-tips, fragrance-free laundry detergent, disinfectant wipes, diapers (size 1-4), and other baby items.

  • Both matches will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network with coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

  • UCM fell to No. 25 Rockhurst by a final score of 3-2 (25-23, 26-28, 22-25, 25-16, 12-15) on Tuesday, Sept. 19, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.
  • Reigning MIAA Setter of the Week Olivia Olson recorded her team leading eighth double-double of the season with a match-high 59 assists, 15 digs, career-high nine kills and three blocks.
  • Middle blocker Grace Southern led the Jens offensively with a career and match-high 17 kills on 37 swings (.405 hitting percentage) adding seven blocks and a career-high five digs, plus, sophomore Rachel Ziesman had nine kills and a career-high six blocks.

  • Defensively, UCM had five double-digit dig performances including redshirt sophomore Grace Winkelmann (team-high 18 digs, five assists and a career-high three aces), outside hitter Sydney Lierz (team-high 18 digs and five kills), redshirt senior Olivia Olson (15 digs), defensive specialist Jackie Storm (14 digs), and junior Arley Anderson (14 digs).
 
Series History
  • Emporia State: Prior to Friday night's match, the Jens hold a 62-7 advantage all-time against Emporia State dating back to the 1983 season posting a 22-3 record inside the Multipurpose Building. Last season, UCM won both meetings against the Hornets including a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-13) sweep on Saturday, Nov. 5, for senior day in Warrensburg. Middle blockers Grace Southern and Jenna Schulte led the Jens with nine kills each, while setter Olivia Olson had a match-high 33 assists.  
  • No. 13 Washburn: Ahead of Saturday's match, UCM holds a 64-26 lead in the all-time series dating back to the 1978 season. Inside the Multipurpose Building, the Jens have a 22-10 advantage with the last meeting in Warrensburg resulting in a 3-1 (21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 19-25) loss to the Ichabods. Outside hitter Kersti Nix led UCM with a double-double performance (23 kills, 11 digs and two blocks overall), while Tiffany Little added 11 kills and libero Grace Winkelmann recorded a team-high 22 digs.

  • Central Missouri is averaging 15.7 digs, 12.8 kills, 11.6 assists, 2.26 blocks (second-best in the conference) and 1.1 service aces per set through ten matches this season.
  • MIAA Setter of the Week Olivia Olson leads the Jens with eight double-doubles on the year averaging 9.81 assists per set (ranks third in the MIAA) while having the second-most digs (120) and blocks (28) on the team.
  • Redshirt senior Kersti Nix leads UCM with 156 kills on the season averaging 3.63 per set (second-most in the conference) while averaging 3.98 points per set (ranks second in the MIAA) and has the second-most double-doubles on the team with four.
  • Middle Blocker Grace Southern's 57 blocks leads UCM averaging 1.33 per set (best in the conference) and hitting percentage at .325 (eighth in the MIAA). Southern is second on the team in kills with 114 (2.65 kills per set) and points with 150 (3.49 points per set).
