Jennies Volleyball Welcomes No. 25 Rockhurst for Home Opener Tuesday

Scene Setter
  • Central Missouri volleyball (5-4, 2-0) begins a three-match home stand on Tuesday, Sept. 19, as they host No. 25 Rockhurst Hawks (8-1, 0-0) with first serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m. from the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.    
  • UCM went 2-0 last week beginning with a sweep of Missouri Western 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-10) on Thursday, Sept. 14, in St. Joseph, Mo., followed by a 3-2 (25-17, 16-25, 25-17, 19-25, 17-15) victory over No. 18 Northwest Missouri on Saturday, Sept. 16, in Maryville, Mo.   
  • Redshirt senior Olivia Olson was named the MIAA Setter of the Week for her play on the court last week as she eclipsed 87 assists (10.88 assists per set) over two matches highlighted by a career-high 60 assists in the victory over No. 18 Northwest Missouri.
  • Tuesday's matchup against the Hawks will be a Roaring Red promotion as all fans are encouraged to wear red UCM attire.

Last Time Out
  • The Jennies defeated No. 18 Northwest Missouri 3-2 (25-17, 16-25, 25-17, 19-25, 17-15) on Saturday, Sept. 16, inside Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo., thanks to a 6-1 run in the fifth set to win the match.
  • UCM had double-double performances from MIAA Setter of the Week Olivia Olson (career-high 60 assists and 15 digs) and redshirt senior Kersti Nix (match-high 23 kills and a career-high 15 digs).
  • Defensively, six Jens recorded double-digit digs including a team-high 23 from libero Grace Winkelmann, a career-high 22 from redshirt senior Sydney Lierz, 14 from defensive specialist Jackie Storm and 12 from junior Arley Anderson.  
  • Middle blocker Grace Southern (match-high nine blocks and three digs) and sophomore Rachel Ziesman (three blocks and three digs) recorded a career-best 14 kills each.
  
Series History
  • No. 25 Rockhurst: Ahead of Tuesday night's matchup, the Jennies hold a 15-5 record all-time against Rockhurst dating back to 1977. Inside the Multipurpose Building, UCM holds a 5-2 advantage all-time with the last meeting resulting in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-23) sweep of the Hawks in October of 2010. Last season, the Jens defeated Rockhurst 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-17, 25-23) on Friday, Sept. 9, inside Mason-Halpin Field House in Kansas City, Mo.
